Sonic Free Riders trailer requires extreme flexibility
21
Okay, we think we understand most of the motion-sensing controls demoed in the Sonic Free Riders trailer posted below, but -- man, are we going to have to bend our backs that far in order to adequately hover-race? We're not sure we ... hold on, we'll try. (oh god doctor call a doctor)

So I take it to truly appreciate the fun features of kinect and this game I have to have training by Neo and not live on the 5th floor of an apartment.
My heart is being so torn because I know I'm going to miss out on so much fun....

The vid just makes me wish for a proper current-gen SSX game. :(

I'm already pretty sick of anything Kinect related, and it's not even out yet.
This game is like the Wii launch titles, where things that could normally just be done by the press of a button are made inherently more difficult by forcing them into a motion control landscape, only this time you're much more likely to die doing it.

Kinect: 150$
Sonic Free Riders 50$
So, 200$ + Tax.
Nah, no thanks.

The thing with Kinect is.. that it's simply fun. That's it. I prefer hardcore games. but after trying Kinect.... All i can say it's simply fun. Hardcore or not.

With wii you don't even have to put your arm in front of you to shoot with the wii remote, you can just rest it on your lap while aiming with your wrist. With the balance board you just stand in place and sometimes bounce a little. I can't believe Microsoft is now forcing you to do what Nintendo failed to do.... make you use are arms... and even.. your whole body.
I'm glad the wii doesn't require you to move around so much like the commercials promised. Much more fun that way. The most fun I have is sitting around doing things, not moving around doing things. I sit around when I'm at work and I sit around when I'm off work. Kinect gives me more of an excuse to move around and that is something in which I don't care for.

Wow, that's one of the first Kinect games I've seen that actually looks...fun to play. Maybe it's just a well-edited video and it wont be nearly as cool, but I couldnt help but feel like it'd be fun to try that.

Man, it's a ton of fun seing you north american fatties complaining about a game that demands you to use your body :)
I mean, "uhh, I need Neo powers to be able to do a little jump"

Genuinely looks fun. I've had my experience with Kinect - loved it - and I want more. As long as this game isn't plagued with bugs I think I'll be just fine.

This will probably sell a lot, it seems like one of the only Kintect launch titles that isn't a new IP.

Yeah I played this before. It's called AntiGrav and was on the PS2 and the EYEToy.

@Nekki Oh yeah that's right, I forgot that eating McDonalds combined with endless nights of Call of Duty or Halo while leaving a permanent XL Ass imprint on your chair/couch/recliner is hardcore. Don't get me wrong - love all types of games on 360, but this tech will be something to watch if you look past the goofy family commercials. People just like to crap on anything new that they're not familiar with. I remember the iPad haters "ewww....nt control pad ..fail". Of course, it was quite the opposite.
