Ok so instead of maybe I dunno getting the game out sooner. They decide to throw in some shit that is unbalance in WoW and put it in Diablo BRILLIANT.

Don't jump to conclusions just because the word arena is there. PvP will never unbalance PvE. If PvP is unbalanced with the current skills it will get a PvP only nerf. That is why they made PvP a separate game type. If there was world PvP they could not do it that way.

I can safely assume that your comment translates to this...

"I want them to release just another diablo 2! No new features, no new anything! Just release it fast enough so I can play it. I'm so important and they need to release it RIGHT NOW"

Way to act like a child.

Look at it this way: if Diablo III is going in a direction that doesn't necessarily float your boat, go play Torchlight, or wait for Torchlight II.

Otherwise, stop complaining about a game having a long developer cycle coming out of a developer notorious for long development cycles (I mean, just look at how long it took for us to get the first third of StarCraft II).

Yes, and then I look at my friend who all regret buying it because it was not worth the wait.

But yes you are very much correct. If Diablo 3 has changed to much (which i really hope it hasn't) then there is always torchlight II :)

Still not a fan of the Arena, I used to love walking around and seeing somebody go hostile. I'd be watching my back every few moments.

Hell, I remember one time when I was fighting Diablo and I was wondering since when he had a pet bea-

Never mind... I just read that in the Battle Arena section. That's is sort of disappointing. I was never into PvP myself, but I did enjoy the aspect of having to be ready to react to PvP threats.

@Zog It's a bad thing in that it sounds almost identical to WoW, which we already have on oversaturated market of and we don't need another WoW clone, especially from the same dev.

Except, Diablo's gameplay is a hell of a lot more interactive and satisfying I found. lol

I genuinely cannot see how you get "WoW clone" from this information. It having some more massively-multiplayer-oriented features shouldn't be surprising, since D2 really pushed the online play (even the original did for the times, though I stayed away due to the prevalence of hacks and trainers and the lack of enforcement preventing them).

The absence of wasd and the emphasis on killing lots of things to take their stuff, if anything, should bring to mind Eastern MMOs, but I can't pretend to share any of your concerns. I love Diablo, and a Diablo with more features (even if I don't use some of them) is more of what I enjoy.

Can I please just get an upgraded version of Diablo 2 (improve what WORKED) so I can simply own in duels just like how I used to back in 1.09 (5+ revisions of a zealot -- godly charms [ele dmg, res, HP] and all that jazz) and in 1.11 (oh gawd, de-sync hammerdins making people cry? trap assassins just to make them feel worse off?).

No WoW crap, please. I faceroll'd S2 2's w/ my warrior to get my Glad title (Yeah, sorry, no merciless! It's not cool when people started to boost their ratings).

Yeah, I do consider myself D2 expert. Looking back, it's funny how I accumulated all of my wealth without EVER knowing d2jsp (for the unenlightened: nearly all of the rich guys conducted their business there ^^) or any other related sites.

From rags to riches, frickin' literally -- how the heck I managed to stack my characters with "near perf" items (again, for the unenlightened: items with perfect stats were, in most cases, duped, and thus worth less; trying to prove their legitimacy meant *POOF* for your item [unless you really did own a legit version, haha]) always throws me off :)

Diablo 3 is a WoW clone like a forumula 1 car is a Ford Taurus clone. Yes, they're in the same genre, and they have some similarities at the core, but acting like they're the same thing is absurd. I really get sick of hearing "Sounds like a WoW clone" every freakin time another RPG comes out.

It'll probably be like Starcraft 2, where you need to connect the game to an online account, but can then play it offline.
But playing online gives you online-saves, cross game chat and achievements.

The idea that 'I can get loot from running the game normally' might be one of the dumbest things a Diablo dev has thought of.

Without boss runs you're looking at an 'end game' that simply 'ends'. The point of boss runs was to take your character above and beyond what you could normally. The entire point of this is that loot is random, and this has to be the case in games where loot is random.

I mean, look. You never once had to kill a boss more than once in D2 almost regardless of build INCLUDING on the hell difficulty. The point of the boss runs were that they were fun AND had loot possibilities. Saying "No, we don't want to have this" is just dumb. Why not have it?

Blizzard design philosophy seems to revolve primarily around making new features and including old features but removing the choice behind them. Why remove choice? Has that ever made for a better game ever?

@Credge

I'm not sure how they can avoid loot runs unless bosses don't have a better chance to drop better loot than normal mobs. If bosses drop better loot then there will be boss running.
