For some reason, "everly" and "ahead-planners" made me smile.

@Xiegfried.

It always makes me smile or at least find it amusing that Sony has the top two and the bottom two consoles and while one of the bottom two is the last console they made, the other one is the newest console. :|

Feels very surreal.

Dear Joystiq,
Please not that for some of your readers, winter has ended.
And now it's sunny 29 degree days. Ahhhhhhh.

@Esposch There is also the Celsius temperature scale, which I'm assuming is the source of the mistaken joke. 29 degrees is frightfully chilly in Fahrenheit.

Yeah, Joystiq, don't post pictures or make jokes about anything, because you know, different parts of the world are different and nothing is universal. Somebody might get offended if you post a picture of snow when it's sunny in California, or something dumb like that.

Thanks!

Yeah, not to mention Joystiq is an American based site. I mean, it is owned by AOL. I don't think they think of every part of the world with every comment they make.

actually it is slightly alienating, not offensive just alienating, and obviously I'm not the only one who thinks so. I dunno.. I realise it's a bit weird.

You're complying about alienating on the Japanese hardware sales page. Besides, I think if I went onto a European site and complained about them not mentioning Fahrenheit or complaint about them not saying how much money something is in US dollars I would be bitched at. I think Joystiq does an exceptional job at covering foreign matters. I honestly can't believe this topic was brought up.

I love metric system. It's just so logical, everything in increments of 10, and a temperature scale based on one of the most common liquids on the planet...

Let's not forget the folks on the equator! For them neither winter nor summer is starting. It's still just sunny and warm, like it was 6 months ago.

So, what JRPG was released on the PSP to send it up to the top?

I think it was the 'PSP is an awesome handheld' game.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze I agree. I'm glad it's getting the attention it deserves not just overseas but in general. I admire Sony for being the only real competitor sales-wise with Nintendo on the handheld market.

@eliteghost Not a JRPG, a Monster Hunter-alike from Square-Enix. Lord of Arcana.

@metamorphic Dude, what he said was completely valid; what are you getting upset over? There are only two major handhelds in the market right now.

As much as I hate when people whine about the sales being split by individual versions, I do have to point out that the combined sales of all DS versions generally tend to outsell the combined PSP sales, and that's not even mentioning how often times single versions of the DS tend to outsell the PSP.

Both great handhelds, but let's not kid ourselves, the PSP has been in second place pretty much this entire race. I'm just glad someone had the guts to stand up to Nintendo with a competent device for once.

Only Sony could have done it. Without the Playstation name, the PSP wouldn't have done nearly aswell as it has.

@eliteghost , I don't think they actually make games for the PSP anymore. Every Japanese just already happens to already own one DS, one DS Lite, one DSi and a DSi XL, so now they have nothing else to do than buy a PSP. Of course, with 47,101 units sold, the Nintendo DS is still the best selling handheld in Japan
