It's more realistic to not die if you run into an enemy. Not that in anyway I'm thinking realism works better, just sayin' it's nice to break away from stereotypical gameplay.

@Yothe That really depends on the type of game it is. In these types of games it makes sense to die if you run into a enemy, a FPS on the other hand. Though they did it right I get pissed when I get or miss a jump.

I'm having a hard time grasping the concept of even using the word "realism" on a game about a pink fluff made of yarn.

It was a challenge for me to buy the game as a 20-year old man. I was humiliated by the pink box art and the employee's questions that ensued. But I did it anyway and have no regrets.

You're an inspiration to 20 year-old gamers everywhere.

I picked this game up as well, while it might not be challenging, it's definitely a good idea with a lot of creativity behind it. It's nice to take a break from worrying whether I'm about to die and just enjoy a game for being good.

I guess I can understand where you guys are coming from, but I am in no way embarrassed by the games I buy. Especially not a game as fun as this. But then again, I'm pretty secure about myself...

@Hank Hill Oh dear lord, I just realised what I implied. Kirby ain't a bad game fellas, but at the same time a man should feel cautious if he's buying a... soft game in public, I tell ya what.

I have no shame because I don't feel embarrassed about going into a store and buying a (very good) video game. That makes perfect sense. Maybe you should stop selling propane and try and pursue your passion as a psychiatrist.

You replied to me, so I replied back, it's just what a normal person does. And your reply "and yet you continue", was much more pointless than mine, at least I was explaining myself with a real reply. All you were doing is commenting on the obvious to get the last word in. Anyways, all that aside, we're both equally immature here.

My wife teaches grade 6. When she told the kids that she and I have been playing Kirby they said that 'it was for babies' and laughed at her. Someone once said one of the best comments ever:

"M rated games are for the kids. E rated games are for adults."

Sometimes I think it's true. Even though these kids might love Kirby, it just isn't 'cool' enough. They'll grow up soon enough.

I really like this game's aesthetic. It reminds me of that Sega Saturn platformer Clockwork Knight, except it's actually good.

Oh yeah? Have you played the music land levels in the original Rayman? They're kick your ass hard and I promise you won't maintain a smile for long... though it may return upon completion of the level.

It blows my mind that people are ashamed of BUYING a game they like, simply because it's cute. I'm a 22 years old man who buys Mario, Kirby and Pokémon games and I've never feel 'ashamed' because of it. I even bought Super Princess Peach twice (Japanese, American).

Are you guys really embarrassed about buying a Kirby game? I'm 26 and didn't even think anything of it, nor did the employees at the Gamestop I bought it at, in fact they seemed equally excited about it, and they were in their mid-30s. Kirby is a series I grew up with, much like Mario, Metroid, Castlevania, Zelda, etc. If you have issues with buying this game just because the character is pink, you need to grow up. No one is going to make fun of you for buying any game, no matter how girly or childish you may think it is, we aren't in 2nd grade anymore.

It was the massively amazing surprise of the Gradius-esque levels that sold me. I played through the game with my brother, laughing at how literally adorable the game was until we reached the level that turns you and Prince Fluff into space ships.

Nothing fluffy about the Vic Viper, yo. That's just HOT. Totally replaying those levels later on.
