Unofficial Rock Band catalog search app arrives on iPhone
17
Here's a hypothetical situation you or someone you know has probably experienced at some point in your life: You and a friend are out at a restaurant or bar, and Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" comes on the radio. You remark how this is one of your favorite Rock Band songs, but your friend replies that this song, criminally, is not part of the Rock Band catalog. You argue about this point all night, ruining your dinner, drinks and, ultimately, friendship.
There's another way -- a better way, friends. A new, unofficial and free iPhone tool from developer Three Brothers Apps titled "RB Song List" lets you scan through the game's downloadable catalog on the go. Using this app, you could have resolved this hypothetical argument in seconds, and then spent the rest of the night talking about why the hell "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" isn't available on the Rock Band Store.

As apparently the only person who owns Rock Band for the PS3, this thing lists all the Rock Band Network songs with no way to filter the ones that haven't made it to PS3 which makes the results fairly unreliable.

Make sure to print it out and store it in a cool, dry place so future civilizations know the game was multiplatform.

Search really needs to be added to the RB Store.

Just another example of why Apple and the App Store rules all.

This is a great idea. I wish it were supported by Harmonix and not a third party.

Three Brothers Apps? What possible connection could this have to Joystiq?

Here's one I use that isn't free, but it allows you to enter your scores and keep track of them. This app also allows you to filter which songs you've purchased. The dev said that a newer version has been sent to Apple for review.

@HazyCloud
First of all, thanks for the Joystiq shoutout... I'm Three Brothers Apps... The app that HazyCloud is referring to is much more complete than the app I submitted. However, that was the intention. I simply wanted a resource to be able to quickly browse the Rock Band catalog while playing the game with my friends. The app isn't supposed to meet the needs that Rock Band Scores does. That's why it's free! That being said. If something looks wrong or there are some features that need to be added for functionality, please send me your requests. If the app is popular, for example, I intend to add a search feature. FWIW, I'm a PS3 user, too. My hope is that we will get all those RBN songs eventually!
PS - Though I do have 2 brothers, I think I should have called myself Stay-at-Home-Dad Apps.... but it's too late for that!

Updated the app with the newest songs and the ability to update the songs within the app itself so that I don't need to push out a new app update every week.
