That's a crazy deal! I bought the boxed edition of that couple of years ago for, I think, $40. Between GoG and Steam sales my gaming library is getting freaking huge, I mean embarrassingly huge - I played less than half of the games I own and I'm having a hard time catching up with them. Though I guess it's one of those "good problems to have" ;)

And your GoG games are yours. Not Valve's, playable only via a periodic phone-home licensing DRM.

This is probably the best game I've seen on GoG though, Steam has a much nicer selection. GoG needs more games like this one.

GoG is getting better and better, and is my default choice for buying any game that is available on multiple services.

Just picked up Master of Magic over the weekend, and damn, that is still a fun game.

NWN was such a disappointment. I am a huge fan of BG1 and BG2, so I bought NWN also. The single player game was horrid - first they removed the party, leaving only one companion who you had no control over (trying, unsuccessfully, to ape Diablo 2 - you couldn't even change his armor/weapon if I remember correctly, let alone control his levelling)

Then the first two acts were terrible. Act 1 - this city has 4 regions. Each region has one required component and one warlord. Go kill the generic warlord and his generic sidekicks and return. Act 2 - this city has 4 regions. Each region has one required component and one warlord. Go kill the generic warlord and his generic sidekicks and return. (I never got to Act 3, so no idea what it had)

Th only thing really going for the game was the spectacular toolset and the modding community that sprung up and delivered hundreds of adventures for the game.

I believe they tried to improve with the sequels, but I never touched anything with NWN or Bioware in it again till Mass Effect!

Please tell me you at least went back and tried some of the other Bioware games before Mass Effect. KotOR and Jade Empire deserve your affection as well!

Third act is where you got to be the judge in an investigation that could ruin an entire village.

Unless you have played Act Three and done said quest, you can't have an opinion on the game.

You rather answered your own complaints regarding the main single player story line. The entire game was designed around multiplayer and modding, that was the primary point of it. I always viewed the single player campaign as an extra. Plus, the main campaign could be played through with multiple players. Less of a story and more of a shared experience.

It's a bit like saying Valve is a horrible company because there is no single player experience in Team Fortress 2.

I just reinstalled this the other day from the original discs. Why am I still re-buying this then? Because GoG rocks and I love supporting them. Plus DRM-free access to the game -- I don't think it can be said enough how awesome that is as GoG's biggest strength.

I still have this sitting around (or rather the Platinum version) my room. I used to play the hell out of NWN, especially online checking out the various custom games people would set up. Some were basically mini-mmos.

Good times.

I liked this game a lot. I didn't think I would, but I got into it.

Like all WRPG's I spent over 2 days at the character creation screen trying to decide what I was going to play as though.

ahh neverwinter nights! the game of endless adventures... the only reason i was introduced to this game back in 2002 was because i let my friend borrow diablo 2- i had never even heard of this game before or had any idea what DnD was. this turned out to be one of my FAVORITE games of ALL TIME.. ive STILL never beat it!

i have it installed on my laptop at the moment (windows 7) and it works perfectly. im just journeying through the single player campaigns, having beat the original campaign finally and currently working on SOU.

the online for this game is AMAZING. its an experience unlike any other game. you can of course play the single player campaign online with others, but the vast majority of the servers had custom made modules ranging from highly structured dueling arenas (you had to challenge another player and they had to accept it), to fully fledged universes like lord of the rings, the wheel of time, lands of lore, and the world of krynn.

to me one of the hardest things to keep fresh in an adventure/rpg game is the exploration. when you first buy a game, everything is unknown to you and the discovery of new areas and dungeons is just magical (think of the first time you played oblivion or world of warcraft). there were so many different servers each running different "modules" (custom game worlds) that the exploration factor was nearly limitless. it truly made for a game of endless adventures...

neverwinter nights 2 was a good game but compared to the original, i just felt it could have been so much more. oh well..

Ugh...you made me buy it. Actually this would be the second time I'm buying this. I owned the box copy but my serial numbers on my manual were ruined in a flooding accident! I guess $10 is cheap enough to not feel too guilty.

NWN is the best multiplayer RPG ever! (as long as you download the good community campaigns/packs!).

Really stupid question and I'm almost positive the answer is no but....
will this game somehow work on my PC if I D/L it from GoG even though when I came back to the states and tried to install it from a copy I had bought from a store, it would not install properly? (This occurred to me about 3 years ago when I came back from my deployment soon after I had bought a new PC)
I had this on my laptop which I threw and broke after I found out on Yahoo that I, and everyone else in Iraq, were getting extended for an additional 3 months lol I absolutely LOVE this game.
I still have the same PC and it runs Vista *-*
Thank you in advance
