I really want to try these Bit. Trip games out. Do they have any plans to put the series on XBLA? And if not, why? Do they not like money?

Try throwing it at them, maybe it'll work.

@Poor Tom They want to, but evidently Microsoft is a huge pile of a**hole that will not let any game on their service that was on another console first.

@Amish

What about Doom and Sonic Adventure? Didn't Megaman 9 come out on Wii first? And there's a bunch of PopCap games that came out on PC first... Oh, and just recently Scott Pilgrim hit PSN first.

@Poor Tom

All of them should translate well, with the exception of Beat, which had a control scheme that really benefitted from the Wii's motion controller.

@Poor Tom From Bit.Trip on Facebook:

"Holy BEATS!!! BIT.TRIP BEAT launches Tuesday 11/2 on Steam for PC/Mac! Get it on sale for $8.99 for a limited time. Spread the INDIE LOVE!"

I bet other consoles are considered, if not already in the works. that said, the games feel at home on Wii.

I enjoyed Fate, but none of the reviews mention my biggest issue with it -- the hit detection is bizarre.

Most of your character's sprite is dead space and doesn't count. Only the very center can be "hit" with a bullet. This sounds like a good thing, except it's very distracting to have a big sprite hung around the small hot spot.

I don't understand why they didn't just follow the lead set in Beat, Core, and Void, and have the character represented by a simple dot.

That's standard for bullet hell shmups.

@greyseal I noticed this too and was confused. So far, I've just played the first level (which I beat on my first try -- wasn't expecting that), but was really kind of bored... I just gave up on the second level to go do something else. Does it pick up after that?

@JBourne Really? I don't think I've ever played a bullet hell game where that was the case. Certainly none of the Treasure games, and they pretty much define the genre.

What games are you thinking of that do this? I'm wondering if I've played any of them and just didn't notice.

@zim2411 Yeah, I'm calling this one the weakest in the series so far. It just doesn't give me that gameplay high that I get from Beat and Runner, or to a lesser extent Core and Void.

Another issue I have is that enemies are rigged to explode on beat. This worked in a game like Rez because of the lock-on system. But here, it means that an enemy stays on screen even after it's been functionally destroyed. It flashes a little bit to let you know, but it's easy to just keep shooting at it even though it's time to move on to a new enemy.

This it my least favorite in the series by far. I have trouble even comparing it to the other games I enjoy so much. Seems like every enemy is overly bullet-spongy, and movement is too slow. It's difficult, but in cheap ways. In the previous games I never questioned the character setup or controls. Now it feels like I'm stuck with an underpowered character.

It took me a while to warm up to Void, so maybe I just need more time with it.

i bpught the ipad version when it was released and fund the game endlessly boring. 4 stars, even if its one man's opinion, is simply not accurate.

The comments are correct. This is def the easiest Bit.Trip game. The only truly hard parts are the bosses 4 and 5. I consider myself terrible at bullet hell shooters, and got through this in 5 days. Still a fun game though.
