EA kind of announces 'new, unannounced' Battlefield game
22
According to a tweet from Ben Cousins, general manager of EA's Easy studio, Battlefield fans can start looking forward to a new entry in the franchise. Easy handles free-to-play online games for EA, such as Lord of Ultima and Battlefield Heroes, and this Friday, the studio will show its "new, unannounced" Battlefield game to London press for the first time, Cousins tweeted.
Given Easy's current projects, we're inclined to guess the new Battlefield will be another freemium entry in the online space. Of course, does it even exist? It's still "unannounced," after all -- actually, wait, wasn't that tweet kinda the announcement? We're going to need to lay down. Our brain suddenly hurts.

Don't you get beta access to Battlefield 3 if you purchase MoH? I don't remember any announcements regarding Battlefield 3 until MoH LE unveil.
I guess we'll see what's up...

The announcement of another Battlefield game is like the announcement of another Call Of Duty game

So it is a battlefield game but not BF3? Hmm maybe a release date for BC2 Vietnam?

See how Battlefield Vietnam was the worse Battlefield I wouldn't look forward to it. Battlefield Vietnam had the most overpowered choppers that made it not very fun. I think even the people in the helicopters got bored of just mowing over soldiers after a while.
Never been a good game about Vietnam. Maybe it is the politics of it?

Oh I forgot 2142 was worse. I still think 1942 was the best Battlefield game.

What I'd really like to play is 3 of my fave BF2 maps from Xbox/Xbox 360 on my PS3:
Backstab
Bridge Too Far
Russian Border
Any others here from the Xbox days of night-long BF2 clan battles?
Sigh.

It's a remake of the 1942 remake, 1943, except this time they call it 1944.

I want Battlefield 3, not some Bad Company remake.
Take Battlefield 2 Modern Combat and update it with some new maps and better graphics.
Must have:
Parachutes
Prone
Conquest
Must not have:
Destructive environments
Weapon "upgrades"
"perks"
Battlefield 2 was great because it was the perfect mix of realism with arcade. The only "upgrades" were learning the best way to use each weapon kit and finding the best strategies through many hours of play. The environments were not too cluttered and had some really big maps. I cannot stand these shooters now that are small maps of people just running around shooting each other. Very little strategy. I'm looking at you CoD and Halo.

I still play on the 360 sometimes. I love all the maps. There are probably less than 100 people still playing who can stomach the server crash glitch.
Fav. Maps:
Full Frontal
Deadly Pass
Russian Border

Battlefield 3 must be a PC exclusive a la BF2 to be worth anything in my book.
Crapping it up by making a side-by-side port to consoles will be what happens though. I wouldn't mind a console port as long as it was optimized for PC, made FOR PC, etc. Destructible environments in huge 64player maps (think of the crane in Oman crashing down... every building in Karkand being destructible and having an inside with multiple choke points) would be glorious, in my opinion.
