That was a..different review. Not many details, more of an anecdote.

Agreed, but is there anybody reading this review who are going to pick this game up for themselves, and themselves only?

Mmm, I liked it. I think it's the only way a game like this could possibly be reviewed...

@Arsenic13 It's not much of a review because there's not much game, it's mostly a toy. It's a 21st Century Tomagotchi.

This is actually better than I would have thought from a review, the only thing I was thinking about with this was would it keep munchkins busy and happy? Sounds like yes. Not getting a Kinect for anything that just came out, but maybe eventually I'll snag this out of the bargain bin.

I thought it was a brilliant review, I now have a perfect sense of what this game is, and a good feel for how my kids would respond to it.

I found it most interesting that his brother married a 10 year old. Weird.

Very clever review Justin! You rightly anticipated that your audience wouldn't care so much how a 30 year old feels about a game designed for kids. Now if you could only get Rileigh to review more Wii games.

I thought the review was pretty insightful to those of us with a child. It did a great job of showing what many of us don't want to admit - that there are some experiences that we just don't get anymore, but are still highly valuable to the youth.

"You can judge Kinectimals all you want, but are you going to be the one who tells the little girl she can't have her own imaginary tiger?
Thought not."

That struck me. I too would be getting this for my child if he wanted it - but in the interim, my wife seems to be calling for it anyway.

You might want to lay low for a little while, Jammin. The grammar police will be looking for you.

I think it's called Fur Junction or something, where a leopard, a tiger, a panther, and Milo (all babies, of course) wait for you to love them.

Hmmmm...

Did you see the actual gameplay demo (IE not the staged E3 one)? It was nothing worth trying. It was nothing new other than an interactive, on-rails menu to get to the next mini-game.

great review justin. parents don't really need to know all the details about this game - they just need to know if their kids will like the game, which you pretty much stated.
also happy birthday - how bout we all pool in to buy you a kinectimals....

Fantastic approach to the review, Justin. 20-somethings writing reviews for games clearly made for young kids always irked me.

wow, Justin figured out something that many review sites should realize. the reviewer should be in the right demographic to review the title. you don't use a Halo player to review Lips. kids are who should be reviewing stuff like Kinectimals. great review. Kinectimals is definitely not for me. but i can see who would enjoy it.

So did I, this was really a great review. I actually read it twice.

It feels like it was written by David Wong, the guy who wrote the comedy/horror novel John Dies at the End.

On the strength of that recommendation, and the awesome name of the novel, I've added that to my list of books to read. Thanks!

I don't think you'll be disappointed, but your family will be when you explode from all the awesomeness. Until, seeing the book unharmed in your entrails, they decide to read it, so beginning a vicious cycle.

How's THAT for a recommendation? lol
