Infinity Blade trailer takes Epic stab at knight fights
16
Out of the 43 bajillion or so games on the App Store, we can't say we've ever come across one that features as startlingly rendered an environment as the Unreal Engine 3-powered castle in Infinity Blade. Of course, sight seeing is not the reason to load up this Retina Display showcase on your iOS device of the moment -- stabbing the crap out of giant monster bosses is! How predictably Epic is that?
GameTrailers has posted the debut trailer for Infinity Blade -- "coming soon" to iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch. Check it out after the break.

Well it certainly looks good. It's missing something. Can't quite my finger on it...

There's no denying this game is gorgeous but the gameplay looks pretty mundane. Swipe your finger and your knight will slice the enemy! Seems very boring and lacking in immersion.

@Nickel So you're response to concerns of simplistic controls and disconnect is "All games on the app store are equally mindless. Also, Angry Birds lol!"
I don't even know where to begin. For a hardcore gamers game I would hope it's more N.O.V.A. and less Angry Birds.

It'll burn my iPhone. LITERALLY.

I gotta agree with everyone who says it's boring. I mean basically, it's just Fruit Ninja with monsters instead of fruits. To paraphrase a certain someone, "If your controller is blocking your screen you failed" (controller would be the hand/fingers in this case, obviously).
Technologically it's a great achievement, but in practice it's pretty ho-hum, kinda like that retina display.

Its crazy that they can pull off graphics that could on an iPod touch or iPhone.

Hey, Epic and Chair? Remember when you made Shadow Complex? I'd like a sequel. Now.

Great graphics, but the lack of decent controls will probably ruin this one just like 99% of all other Iphone games.

Looks nice. I wouldn't complain about the controls. My hands are pretty slow, so something like this would be great.
