My first thought was "This could be a fun way to learn some Japanese!"

Then I realized that the only words I would ever learn would be jetpack, God, Cthulhu, chainsaw and shotgun.

@killdash9 I always wondered what was up with Sailor Moon's hair. Now I know they were tentacles.

Cthulhu = 魔法少女 = magical girl. So, to avoid the wrath of Cthulhu, we should just get her a cute boyfriend?

It should be a modified version of the first game, with the upgraded controls.

It can stay the way it is. Japan loves innovative games with one or two crippling design flaws. Especially in the controls. If anything, they should add a cumbersome inventory system; then you have a real hit on your hands.

I've always wondered if Japanese gamers ever import N. American games, much like some of us import their games.

Scribblenauts in English seems like it might actually work in Japan. You can get through most of the puzzles on a grade 4 level vocabulary. I know because my 10-year-old niece is playing through it. Scribblenauts could be a neat exercise in learning a new language.

Finally, someone ELSE gets a crappy Konami port of a foreign game for once.

No, I'm off to play with Richiter and Charotte in Portrait of Ruin.

@GiantGamer
We get a lot of games from Japan that have translated puns as well.
They just translate similar puns into our culture.

Same can go for them.

It's as boring as your imagination was.

But yes, by design, it had bad controls.

Phew sounds a little complex considering how Japanese is written.

Good luck, Konami!
