Is this really a lesson that needs to be learned? I thought it was common sense that people like to have goals set for them to accomplish. We all love making a list and then crossing things off that list to feel that sense of accomplishment. How is this guy speaking at a "Leadership Forum"?

"APB -- exciting, exciting ride. It was a great ride, I learned a lot. But one of the exciting things, one of the things I learned really -- this is something I will say I really learned at RTW"

This guy is an awful, awful speaker. I can only assume he is also an awful, awful leader...

Okay, given that I learnt about the importance of having "micro-wins" in system development during only my second tertiary year of education, the fact that John Howard was speaking at a leadership forum scares the crap out of me.

Where it cost me 600 bucks in fees, his education was in the realms of a multi million dollar project

As a game developer, I really can relate to that.
I mean, we got some games done, but none have been shipped until now. That's really frustrating.

When you release a game, and less than two weeks later you say "We're going to release a patch to make some things more fun, and to redo the vehicle controls so it's not as frustrating", you know you have problems.

From what I hear, they ignored beta testers complaints. They were so sure the product would be great, they didn't devote much time to actually fixing the problems found, and addressing the complains, namely, that the game wasn't fun.

That, and the amount of money they dumped into it because they had it, assuming it was going to be a big hit.
