The Transformers Armada game on PS2 was better.

WfC was a ton of fun and an all around good game. A sequel is exactly the opportunity High Moon needed to make it a great game though, and I'm really looking forward to it.

We've got potential for new classes, new weapons, new canon (hehe puns), and new Transformers. Not to mention they're spending a lot of time on it - could we ask for any more?

I hope the sequel takes place on Earth.

War for Cybertron was fun, but I was tired of the setting by the fourth level. :(

Earth as a setting has been way overused compared to Cybertron, so I fail to see how you got bored of Cybertron and are craving an Earth setting.

@Hyperion45 Because everything looked the same. Earth might be in a ton of games, obviously, but you can't really have a forest, desert, ocean, savanna, or jungle made of metal

See above. Apart from the handful of cave sequences, Cybertron was all metal all the time. It was like playing inside a giant toaster for 8 hours.

@slickie Might be kinda odd for "War for Cybertron 2" to NOT take place on Cybertron. Aside from the comics that not everyone who's a fan of Transformers even read, the planet has gone incredibly underused as a backdrop for the series, making it a huge playground for potential storylines and events. I can understand a bit of exhaustion but it's likely that the next game might refine the environments to give more variety or take place on alien ships that can offer different settings.

But even if they dont, it's a planet of robots, really expecting anything different than "the inside of a toaster" is actually kinda silly.

Man, I loved the first's single player, but the multiplayer community soon became nonexistent. Hopefully this second one is marketed a little more so that more people are compelled to play online.

@Burnflare Or they could skip on mutliplayer, altogether and focus on an even better single player game. Not every game needs deathmatch.

The multiplayer was one of the coolest parts. It was the real showcase for the "classes" of transformers, which were kind of useless in the corridor-corridor-courtyard-corridor level design of the campaign.

More maps would've been nice. Anything, really... They did let that community die on the vine.

The game was okay, but as someone before said, grew tired of the setting really quick. I'm all for a new transformers game, but make it on earth, with recognizable vehicle forms, different environments and stuff.

It could transition in to the plot from the animated film well enough...

I was already listening to the soundtrack from that throughout my entire playthrough of War for Cybertron. It enriched the experience greatly. I feel the game should've used that soundtrack by default.

No Rodimus Prime, though, please.

DURRRR...the "Dark of the Moon" game is coming next year. Did you honestly have to think about 2011's TF game was, considering the 3rd movie is due that summer????????

WFC was one of the surprisingly great games of the year. There are still improvements that could be made though. One thing it lacked was a local co-op campaign. I know someone already mentioned that, but it is a big deal to some of us with friends we like to hang out and game with.

I hope they have it in the sequel.

Apart from that, some more locations - such as Earth or similar - would be nice.

Maybe Dinobots too.

Even more robot planets would be nice. My problem wasn't so much that it was wall to wall metal walls, but that they were all blue and purple. There was a great deal more color variation in G1 transformers. Their ship was bright yellow, for Christ's sake. (He loved yellow)

The gross 70's oranges and browns of the junk planet, some blues and yellows of that planet with the sharkbots...

I don't know why everything had to be blue and purple.

The main problem with the other Transformers games were that they were on earth. Playing as giant robots in our cities just doesn't click to me. There is a huge time difference between the ending of WfC and the transformers coming to earth, they have plenty of time to think something up for what goes on in between those 2 major parts of the timeline.

Sweet! Just recently started War for Cybertron with a pair of friends and I'm lovin' it. The gameplay is tight and well done, the graphics are simply amazing, the locations and design are awesome and really bring Cybertron to life and co-op is a blast.

Really never thought the controls would be THIS good, though. Even though I thought they were well done in last year's Revenge of the Fallen... another game I enjoyed, but felt it was hindered only by the fact that it was a movie game.

Something like the Spider-Man game trilogy being meh, but Web of Shadows being amazing. Game developers need that free reign to draw upon the respective game's universe to really flesh things out.
