Baldur's Gate 2 Complete now available from GOG

If you've been picking up the major releases from Good Old Games over the last couple of months, you're probably set in terms of gaming for the next ... forever. Baldur's Gate, Master of Orion, Neverwinter Nights Diamond, Icewind Dale 2, and the rest add up to approximately way too many hours of gameplay.

And now GOG has announced the final game from its Atari-Hasbro deal: Baldur's Gate 2 Complete, containing both Baldur's Gate 2 and the expansion, Throne of Bhaal. It's available DRM-free for ten bucks, on PC only. Mac owners are free to live productive lives -- unless they boot into Windows.

God give me strength. That game sucked up a lot of my time. I didn't really care for the first one, but BG2 really got me. I ended up going back to BG1 afterwards because I just plain wanted more after 2. And then Icewind Date 1 & 2, and... Yeah, took a long time to get out from under that.

They act sooner than we had anticipated!
No matter, they will only prove a slight del--no wait, my party isn't even halfway through replaying NWN.
There will never be enough time--we are considering shifts.

If you buy this get prepared to spend forever playing it.

I lost an entire year of my life to this thing! The Sentient Sword! Firkraag! Even the minor characters were amazing!

Well I spent the summer playing Baldur's Gate 2 after I found it in my desk. It looks like I'll spend the winter playing it again.

I don't have any of these. I am hooked on DA:O and love the fantasy RPG. Which of these should I get?

If you are in it for the story, NWN is the closest in gameplay.
I'd say either start at the beginning with Baldur's Gate or, if it is a bit to out of date, jump right into BG2.

If you just love hacking things to bits in a DnD setting though, get the Icewind Dale games.

The header image brings back so many memories, ahhhhhhhhh, good times.

I must admit I like the story. I know, I am such a girl... lol. Thx for the advice! :)

Is NWN related to BG at all? Should I just play that 3rd?

That's nice and all, but when are we getting an iPad version? Don't give me crap about email-this or airvideo-that, the iPad was custom made to play Infinity Engine games.
