I'd guess plenty of people are sick of hearing about this but, I think DSi should have its own VC from say, SNES on down. Anyone else think they'd purchase from that setup?

@Bumper

DSi deserves a lot of things. Like some ACTUAL attention from Nintendo beyond "holy crap, we can break up and resell old DS games in micro packages?"

In essence, being a Nintendo DSi or XL owner essentially means you paid for the privelage while Nintendo takes another 2 years to figure out how this whole DD thing works. It sucks having a beta test buy-in. But third times the charm, right? They can't POSSIBLY be this inept come 3DS time, right?

I think 3DS will have access to the DSiWare.

On 3DS they'll have (a) a user base (proportionately at least), and consequently (b) third parties making something other than flashlight apps.

Not that DSi didn't sell or anything but it's still got to be a fairly small proportion of DS users, and that's before you consider what proportion of *those* people will bother using the online features. At least with 3DS 100% of people on the platform will have the download feature available, even though they still might not use it.

I'm not really betting on it being great, having actual promotion, etc, but it ought to be as good as WiiWare - lots of really bad games but a fair few really good ones too - and frankly I get the impression it's much worse.

Another week, another lack of VC games. I guess the thousands of first-party games from the NES up to the Nintendo 64 is a total lack of resources here.

I noticed they are now sticking trashware apps on the DSi store. Crap like "flashlight", and "disco", which are just like the crappy apps on the Apple app store. It turns your screen bright white to use as a "flashlight", and the other one changes colors to the sound it picks up.

Oh, wait, flashlight also has a "emergency beacon" mode, if you want to change your tire, and stick your DSi up in the back window as an emergency light.

I don't see how Nintendo is approving this crap.

They don't approve the quality of the product anymore...
Just approve its coding, I think.

@vipor1979
I'd buy carts despite VC.
There's something special about having a physical thing to hold.

...I still buy VC though, I suppose for convenience's sake.
