The Last Story Wii bundle, Uematsu music revealed

Mistwalker's Wii RPG The Last Story will receive a big push from Nintendo in Japan when it comes out January 27. The company will offer the game in a bundle with a white Wii and Classic Controller Pro for ¥25,800 ($300), neatly packed in a box (pictured above) that buyers may want to hang onto for display purposes. It looks really nice, is what we're saying.

The first run of the game will also be bundled with bonuses including a mini-soundtrack and an artbook. Speaking of the soundtrack, Nintendo also revealed that Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu has created the music for The Last Story (via a Japanese-language Iwata Asks interview with both Uematsu and his fellow Squaresoft veteran Hironobu Sakaguchi). The addition of Uematsu certainly makes that mini-soundtrack more appealing!

That box art looks excellent.

Every new Wii bundle makes me hate myself more for investing when I did.

@F7698 also your investing skills suck - that Wii is probably worth only about 75% of what you paid for it at most, and it's likely to decline even further in future - before inflation is even considered.

Hell, assuming you bought a Wii a year or so after launch, you did almost as badly as if you'd invested on the stock market!

Just kidding but it annoys me a bit when people say 'investing' but don't actually mean it. I prefer 'bought' :)

And this bundle looks fantastic - but you know, it's only a box, so whatever. The game also looks really promising but even if they bother to localise it (*cough* xenowhatever *cough*) I'm betting on it taking bloody ages. :(

If the West doesn't get this game I will be very, VERY disappointed.

It looks so darn awesome!!

I will not buy this game.

However, I will be purchasing the soundtrack.

Lost Odyssey was one of my favorite JRPGs of all time. It really seems Sakaguchi took the magic with him when he left S-E. I fully expect this game to be amazing and hope that Uematsu and Sakaguchi continue to work together.

I hope they release a version with just the controller and game, in a kick ass box like that. Also, wheres Xenoblade/Monado at in terms of US release. I played a bit of it in Japanese and i was quite impressed.

Nintendo OWNS it. They brought in Mistwalker to help make it in a collaboration between the two.

So yeah, I really hope Nintendo has it locked down. :)

LOL at those who sold their Wii because they thought all its games would suck, and then ended up selling 70 million+ units worldwide.

WTH? Why does Joystiq suddenly not post my name (we all know that this is "therandomizer", right)? Fail...just fail.

Would be nice to get a crack at this game. It seems like most of the RPG's that are bought over don't fare so well...but one that seems interesting might not get a shot.
