Connectivity fix for Wii version of Call of Duty: Black Ops incoming
44
It's rare for games on the Wii to get any post-launch support, thanks largely to the console's proclivity for overly complicated digital distribution, as well as its relatively meager amount of internal storage. Treyarch isn't letting those hurdles stop it from fixing a few connectivity issues in the Wii version of Call of Duty: Black Ops: community manager Josh Olin has announced that "We have fixed many of the problems you have reported and are currently testing those fixes in anticipation of releasing an update." The patch will be available "within the next week or so."
We've contacted Olin to find out exactly how this update will be delivered. In-game? Through the Shop Channel? Storks? Some kind of stork delivery system?

Storks? Nah, they are too busy with babies and what not. Treyarch will send the Messenger Zombie to each of your homes to update the software...
now whether he will leave peacefully is an entirely different matter

Is this what it's come down to? "If you want updates to our games you'd better not be a BK, cause if you suck that zombie's taking more than just your tip."

Nice, the 12 people who are playing Black Ops on the Wii are going to be stoked.

Curious where you got that statistic. According to VGChartz (which, yes, I know isn't the most reliable source), World at War's sales broke down like this:
360: 6.56M
PS3: 4.27M
Wii: 1.61M
Which are still good numbers for the Wii version... it's nowhere near the other two platforms.

Nintendo does make awesome games! Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Starfox, all such great times.
Too bad that was a decade ago. Now we get Super Mario Galaxy! Like Mario 64, only 10 years later and not as good.

Wait, Galaxy was not as good as Mario 64?
Or STAR FOX? Or Mario Kart 64?
I'm sorry, but the only reason games were better back then was because you were younger. If you go back and play them now, Galaxy is a million times more refined than any 64 game.

It'd be better if it didn't. Wii online is like trying to play PC games online in say, 1996, back when everyone still had dial up.

X360 has patched too? Because what i can see, the mass marketing of Activision is affecting only who not own a microsoft console... another reason to keep not buying these fuking shooters

@jynxycat I think he means only 360 cod owners are getting patched but I can't be sure.

Phantasy Star Online 1 & 2 for the Gamecube downloaded patches for the game when you logged on. This is what was originally used by the homebrew market to initially hack the console. Let's hope history repeats itself for the unhackable (newer) Wii(s).

just for fun I rented this game on the wii, It played awesome, I know you wont believe me but the online was over all pretty smooth no lag etc.etc. and always found matches really quick, obviously it will be better for ps3 and xbox360 when I actually buy the game it will be for one of those. but with a classic controller its a really fun online game for the wii!

Okay the trolls in this comments section re annoying. The game has plenty of players. Probably not as many as the 360 or -s3 versions, but more than enough to get a game any time of day.
The game is programmed to work with DLC and patches. The previous CoD had patches too.

My son's friend has Black Ops for the Wii and he said it plays very much like the PS3 version we have. I haven't seen it or played it on the Wii, so I can't concur.

Man I just feel sorry for those people playing black ops on the wii. Maybe with the classic pro controller it would be ok, but if you do that might as well get a 360.
FYI, Goldeneye was actually pretty good game and I enjoyed playing it with the classic controller (just played the single player campaign). The motion control was terrible.

been reading the post's on this and have most of you even played this game online. It's the best wii shooter out their , When I want to let my ps3 cool down from playing black ops I hop on the wii version it is fun as hell ,as well as golden eye you ppl should not judge games you have not played.
classic controller pro + black ops = 5/5
classic controller pro + golden eye =4/5
play them !!!
