Xbox Live joins Black Friday spendathon with week of sales, starting tomorrow

If you can get past the ill-advised headline in Microsoft's announcement of a handful of Black Friday-timed sales -- "Xbox 360 Rings In The Holidays with Can't-Miss Black Friday Deals for Halo: Reach, Fable III and Xbox Live Marketplace" -- you'll find some hot deals on Xbox Live games, movies and DLC (which, as digital offerings, don't require you to be trampled to death by people shopping for cheap towels).

Of the week-long "Black Friday" deals -- beginning tomorrow, November 23, through Monday, November 29 -- 'Splosion Man for two dang bucks (Friday only) is the clear standout. Other "samples" from the week of promotions include savings on additional XBLA games, like Portal and The Secret of Monkey Island; Xbox Originals Halo and GTA: San Andreas; and a few Zune movies. (Check out a list of currently-announced offers after the break.) Throughout the Thanksgiving week, Microsoft will post the deals on Xbox.com. Oh! And don't forget: Microsoft is still hosting its ongoing, "regular" Xbox Live Deal of the Week, offering the Hasbro Family Game Night games for half-off ($5 each) today through Sunday.

@PR0F3TA It is.Probably gonna pick up Splosion man and Trials HD. I mean come on, freaking 560 points which = $7... Compared to the $30 regular price.

@PR0F3TA San Andreas is the best GTA. I actually just finished playing through it again last week, it get's better every time.

@PR0F3TA Getting Halo and as good as 400 points is for GTA, its not better than the $3 I spent on steam to get it two weeks ago. Heck I got San Andreas and Vice City( BEST GTA) for under $7.

do what i do, buy it just to have it available to play anytime, even if you delete the file itself you do get to download it unlimited times... right?? its yours, your digital copy to redownload whenever you want.

yes, of course you can download and re-download things as often as you like. i played the hell out of san andreas years ago, but never got around to actually beating it. my friends and i had too much fun just inputting cheats and wreaking havoc. for 400 points i may just have to get it again, graphics be damned.

i wish they had more sales on xbox orginal games.

That said, everyone NEEDS to pick up 'Splosion Man when it's on sale. My absolute favourite XBLA game. It's well worth $10 so there is absolutely no reason to pass it up at $2 if you don't already have it.

Excellent deals there for Splosion Man and Trials. Shame I already have them. The only thing I would maybe be interested in would be Portal but I already have Orange Box and the PC version so, I dunno. There's new levels but I think i'll wait and see if there's anything else or wait for the Xmas deals.

'Splosion Man and Trial HD are two REALLY cool games and definitely worth picking up or checking out if you haven't tried it.

Where is my points MS, I need them to buy Portal. (I got Portal for free on Steam, and now must buy it... at a discount).

If you do, disregard Halo: Reach for continuity sake. They don't add up very well. I still enjoy some Halo: CE though. Holds up pretty well for a decade old game.

btw... my fable 3 doesn't need fixing, I haven't had any problems outside one really weird lockup when I tried leaving my dressing room where the whole room went empty and I couldn't leave.

Don't care about Fable III DLC until they fix the game.

It's portal, with some extra levels added on. If you have OB for PC, you already have the levels. If not, it's like an expansion pack.

(You don't need the orange box to play it)

i havent read any reviews on GTA san andreas but since its a gta game and 5 bucks, i cant say no

Madden NFL Arcade is worth 400 points to begin with. I don't know WHAT the hell EA was thinking with that 1200 point price tag.
