right away with that screen shot i know how uncomfortable it plays, i'll pass. Sonic 2 alone is annoying to play on a touch screen.

You can play all of the genesis games with a smaller screen (which is 1:1 pixel mapped so it is nice and sharp) and the buttons don't obscure the action.

iPhone Gunstar Heroes is not for everyone. If you suspect you might have transparent sticky nubbins, please consult your doctor.

@rahnyc4
carrying my DS with me to possibly play a game for 5 minutes once in my day isn't really for me, to each their own.

IMO mobile gaming, portable gaming and console/pc gaming are all valid, it just depends on the situation.

@Brained
If you wanna jailbreak and pirate some roms etc. lets not start that, any other post on Joystiq should cover piracy or jail breaking

Or use Android, no root procedures required.

@Agnostiq

Piracy issues aside, the emulators do give you more options. Many now have the ability to sync with Wiimotes. So you can play the games using a Wiimote or Classic Controller.

I'll admit, touchscreen controls are far from ideal...but when I wanna get down on a game while I'm away from my consoles/pc my iPhone does the trick without having to bring a whole separate device besides my phone (ie. PSP/DS) Plus you can get good games for $9.99 or less, whereas with PSP & DS you're spending upwards of $40 a game!

...whoa that was weird. I took one look at that screenshot and threw my iPhone at the wall.

Preemptive rage?!

I really don't have an iOS device, nor I'm interested in one, but wouldn't your thumbs/ fingers block half the screen? O_O
Also, are games like these hard to control?

Pictures can say 1000 words, and right now that screenshot is saying: :this should not be played with a touchscreen"

You'd think I would be the target audience for this, as I love Gunstar Heroes and have an iPhone.

But I'll pass.
