Game Room adds Blades of Steel; Sunset Riders and Twinbee rumored

Hey, remember Game Room? Despite ongoing troubles at Krome, the studio continues to add emulated arcade, Intellivision and Atari 2600 titles to Xbox Live's retro download service -- and the latest update is actually pretty awesome. Game Pack 012 has launched with the arcade versions of Blades of Steel and Trick Trap 1771, plus the Atari 2600's Pitfall 2 and the Intellivision's Vectron. And there are still 11 titles to come from the pack!

GamerBytes reports that "Game Room hackers" have discovered the identities of the rest of Game Pack 012's pending releases, and they're even more awesome than the launch titles, including Konami's cute-em-ups Twinbee and Detana!! Twinbee, the run-and-gun Western Sunset Riders and the four-player Atari classic Warlords. See the full (rumored) list after the break.

Downloading Game Room just for Sunset Riders.

LIES!!!! Game Room isn't suppose to be releasing good games, but I sure hope it's true. I've been waiting for the SNES version of Sunset Riders for the VC, but hey if the arcade version is going to be released for Game Room. I'll buy both.

I've tried to play it many times but it's just a little TOO retro for me. I was born in '84 so early 90's arcade titles interest me more. I've always dreamt of WWF WrestleFest on a console but doubt it'll ever happen outside of Dreamcast emulation. Online multiplayer would be sick, too.

buy an xbox1, softmod it and go nuts with mame. xbox1 was and still is the best console ever to hack.

@(Unverified) I hope so. It can't be as bad as the arcade version of Tecmo Bowl compared to the NES version.

I grabbed Twinbee during one of the oh-so sporadic Hanabi Festivals for the Virtual Console. It's the only shooter that's managed to hold my little brother's interest for longer than five seconds, so for must count for something.

It's not my favourite shooter - that honour belongs to Star Parodier - but Twinbee is a real sweet and cheery and 'nice' game. And colourful.

I have Konami and Hudson's PSP releases of Twinbee (in the Twinbee Portable collection) and Star Parodier (Star Soldier Collection) and can't really say I enjoy one any more than the other. They're both cute and funny (also applies to Parodius, of course--got Parodius Portable, too). As an aside, I was pleased I recognized Hisakawa Aya's voice in the opening of Star Parodier.

Warlords is a must-play paddle game, but it really needs paddle controllers for the best experience.

Only good thing about game room is Giant Bomb game room weekly quick looks.

I REALLY hope sunset riders is for real. I was actually playing it in an arcade (yes, a real one) last saturday.

Actually, it'd be cool to have some LaserDisc-based games in Game Room. I'd buy Dragon's Lair -- and a Dirk the Daring mascot. But I'm not holding my breath.

Sunset Riders deserves to be remade, or even sequelized.

Way too late after the last few months of shit they've put out. Just speed up Game Room's death already to save Jeff Gerstmann the money each week.

Sunset Riders? For realsies? That is awesome.

If Sunset Riders has 4 Player online multiplayer, I will probably buy it. Loved that game as a kid. If they add more 80s/90s arcade games like Sunset Riders, I might have to take Game Room more seriously.
