Redeem double XP in Red Dead Redemption this weekend

We really wanted to tie the double XP offer in Red Dead Redemption to Thanksgiving in a thematic way, but there's little in common between the two things. They celebrate different periods of American history, and shooting a bunch of banditos and varmints is pretty far away from ... not dying of starvation.

Actually, there is one nice way to connect the two -- the "gluttony" theme, but Rockstar done already used it in its announcement of the event, which runs from Thursday through Sunday. "Stuff Yourself with 4 Days of Red Dead Redemption Double XP." So clever! That leaves us with, like, "this deal is no turkey!" We're going to go cry into a pecan pie now. Enjoy some RDR this weekend.

I have way too low of a level in RDR MP. Double XP is a necessity right now.

Double xp weekend is awesome. I went from level 30 to 40 in less than 2 hours!

Does this work with the zombie horde mode? I've been meaning to try that out.

The Zombie mode is fun, but in my experience, doesn't offer much XP per capita compared to other modes (in terms of time relative to XP gain). The most XP can be had in regular Co-op and in gang hideouts in free roam.
