I will gladly take any and all Assassins Creed they can put out. Some of the best stuff I have played both story and game play.

I WANT to believe it's AC3, but in reality, it's probably just going to be the one where Ezio goes to Masyaf.

Why? From what I've seen the multiplayer is fresh, original and seems to add a lot of replay value and the best part is that it's totally OPTIONAL to play.

It's not optional when they require it for the platinum trophy.

listen, I am as big a trophy/achievement whore as the next guy, but if you're bitching about a game having an expanded feature set because it affects your quest for a Platinum trophy, you need to seriously reevaluate your approach to gaming.

In a literal sense, but it's personally mandatory. I evaluate the trophy lists before purchase. There's nothing wrong with the perfection approach to gaming.

Hey guys, remember when the only "achievement/trophy" in the game was winning? I value fun over a trophy list, but that's just me I guess. Now excuse me, I have to go kill some freaking unicorns to get to lvl 20 on Deathspank.

Count your blessings. AC will have lots of people online because I hear it's very good. I'm still waiting on a Platinum for Ghostbusters because it's a ghost town online (no pun intended).

I guess the next Assassins Creed game will be out before Brotherhood arrives on PC then. They always delay the PC version and slap on some shitty DRM that requires constant internet connection.

Sorry for ranting, but thinking of this made me a bit irritated.

if the mulitplayer in the next game can make the same progress/improvements the single player had between AC and AC2, i'm definitely down for another game next year.

the multiplayer now is a lot of fun, but man i'm lousy at not getting stabbed.

"at the end of the day it's about selling games." -- oh boy this is the beginning of the end folks. When they lose focus on delivering great functionality and start focusing on just selling games it means they just killed the franchise. It's gonna be like EA sports where all you get every single year is another small patch and limited improvements. Only unlike EA sports they wont be able to hide behind monopolistic licensing agreements... it always sounds/feels good to the investors in the short term... but this is gonna kill 'em in the end.

There is nothing wrong with trying to make some money, yes. But I think what he was getting at is this might ruin the quality of the games. While I'm all for great games as quickly as possible, I just don't want them to rush these games

fantastic news. i'd love a game focused almost solely on Desmond's era as a bridge to AC3 (if this isn't AC3, obv), but i'd also be happy with a game starring one of the other Assassin teams in 2012. i know some people would cry foul at moving away from the story considering the ending Brotherhood has, but it wouldn't be a bad way to keep the franchise fresh. there's so much potential here, and if they want to put out yearly games, it seems like it would be better to expand things a bit rather than hammering out chapters of Desmond's story so quickly.

that being said, Brotherhood is as good or better than AC2 in every department, so if they can do that again, by all means give me the follow-up.

@neftones I think the story petered out around Sequence 8 or 9 so in that area it wasn't quite as good, but the bits with Desmond were massively improved, and the mechanics were definitely nicely refined. I wouldn't complain about a side-game featuring other assassins, though.

This isn't the type of series I can play on a yearly basis. grand theft auto probably wouldn't be as successful as it is now if Rockstar released one every single year. There's only so many assassinations I want to do and after the [likely] Desmond led AC3 I'm out.

If you think these games are slow you really must have ADD. You can run around Rome in 5 minutes, scale a 300 foot tower in 30 seconds and kill a hundred guards in half that time. What the hell kind of game do you consider not slow?

@Invigilator Not enough motion blur all around to give you that false sense of speed like many racing games do, perhaps? That would be fun, you start running at roughly 15 mph and lose all peripheral vision!

Is there anybody else who would like to see a co-op mode for Assassin's Creed? The introduction movie for AC:Brotherhood just screamed "co-op mode" to me.

They tied multiplayer coherently into the fiction I don't see why they can't do co-op. Maybe two assassin's ancestors team up with they're Animuses... Animi... Animus'... w/e. Still, they'd have to drastically change the gameplay for co-op though because going after one target with two guys would get pretty boring/easy

I disagree, I found Brotherhood more compelling across the board. ACII's story consisted of "That random guy you just killed, turns out he had 5 friends! Better go kill them too! Oh, and you won't believe it, but those guys knew some other guys, and they have to go too."

Brotherhood actually took the time to properly define a few antagonists rather than throwing dozens of copy pasta ones at you.

As for COD whoring, I could care less if the games came out every month if they were this good.

I agree with that, as long as they can keep the quality consistent they can release as many games as they want. (Well if they don't I guess they will stop selling eventually)

However, for me personally, one game in a series pr year is a bit too often so I will wait for the GOTY version of Brotherhood.

Duhh.. As long as it's not set in Rome or Italy I'm game. I think Ubi has something special with the AC IP. If they were to annualized it but also make huge improvements like AC 2 was then fans can have an appointment with the creed every holiday. Just imagine every year fans will be asking " where is AC taking us this year? Imperial Japan? Victorian England?..but like I said only if they are huge improvements made..I just hope the dame thing doesn't happen to AC like it did with the MK games where it peaked at 2 and then that's all she wrote.

@rambo8 It will just make it harder for me to decide on which to actually buy. I could not care less for multiplayer in this series so I will be borrowing the game off a buddy that beat the thing in a weekend. Glad I didn't plunk down the full price, I think I would feel cheated as he and many other people seem to be.
