Does anyone in Japan live in a house big enough for the Kinect to work correctly?

@Hoops It has nothing to do with space. Japan is very prideful country, that being said they would rather own some thing made in Japan than made in America.

I think a lot of it has to do with space, in addition to what you mentioned.

The whole Japanese consumers only love Japanese products is weird considering they love McDonalds, iPods, Levis, and American rock and roll to name just a few. People find it hard to believe other cultures don't like products that they like. Different cultures have different tastes and the Xbox with its FPS heavy lineup doesn't fit Japanese tastes.

@Kevinsilhouette Well, duh. I think Japan's always had some sort of issue with America since 1945.

@My Prerogative Why bring up the war? For your information, modern Japan prefers to look back at that time with a sense of regret and a willingness to move on. Something YOU could do well to learn from.

Name some other examples of how Japan has issues with America? You see, if you'd actually been to visit instead of making wild, baseless accusations, you might notice how their culture embraces the old as well as the new, forging quite a unique sense of identity. Japanese honour and politeness combined with an interest in Western style and technology, amongst other things, results in an amazing country.

It's actually the opposite: Japanese love quality stuff. No matter where they're made, it has to lasts. Americans are the ones who are patriotic about their products: only in America you see American-made stuff selling well and always bitching when something is made in China. Do you see a lots of GM, Ford cars selling well outside of the US? No. You mostly see trends like Toyota trucks in the African jungle and not the Jeep brand.

The two major problems between the USA and Japan are:

1. Strife over the military base in Okinawa. The locals simply don't want a US base there. I don't blame them, it's not fun having a foreign nation occupying.your native soil (ever wonder why the USA won't allow foreign military on US soil?)

2. Issues between the Bank of Japan and the Federal Reserve on monetary policy.

The first one is isolated to a small population and the other is too abstract to understand, and most people in each nation are oblivious to the problems. Otherwise, Japan pretty much eats up everything American in origin, such as the love affair with 7-11 convenience stores.

I am actually interested in seeing the type of games the Japanese market bought for Kinect. Even though 229% of a small number isn't really that much, it's still a large increase in sales so they must have been excited for something.

Probably the same stuff that sold well in the US and UK, since it's most likely expatriates that bought them, for the most part.

"even in Japan"? The PSPgo was actually expected to do more poorly in Japan than in other markets. There are even fewer Japanese consumers into the download-only model than Western consumers.

Am I the only one who gets agitated by people who like to post responses with their caps locked. It's as though they are screaming for attention. I like intellectual responses to posts and some common decency which they seem to be lacking.

Awesome comment, best of the week at least... also I would seriously love at least some of those statistics.

For example, it would be so awesome if, in Japan, 94% of people who bought Gears of War are literally gay. Suddenly all those online insults are accurate! Also it turns out that Marcus Fenix is actually really hot. Who'd have thought?
