Kinectimals plush toys coming in Spring 2011

We know, we know -- Fur Town is getting kind of lonely these days. All your Kinectimals have been petted and played with so many times and, well, you're getting kinda bored of them. Thankfully, according to an announcement from Jakks Pacific this morning, Microsoft has plans to release "five unique plush animals" in the first wave of Kinectimals stuffed animals coming out in Spring 2011.

Like the King Cheetah and Maltese Tiger included in the game's collector's editions, the plush animals can be scanned into Fur Town and be played with in-game to heart's content. No pricing was given in the announcement -- but can you even put a price on cuteness?

I'd hope that's because it's an old photo.. those plushes look low quality

These guys have probably been in the works for awhile.

When Star Wars was in production, the photos Lucasfilms sent Kenner were in black and white. So they had to guess at the Lightsaber colors. At release, the figures had yellow Lightsabers.

Figures come out all the time with characters or outfits that never appeared in the movie or TV show because something changes at the last minute. One of the Star Trek: TNG movies had half the figures of the cast in the wrong uniform because of this.

So it wouldn't be surprising that these things have been in development a long time.

And by that, I don't mean they didn't know the name was going to change, but that these are prototypes still sporting the development name.

@bloodlinejake Those plushes were given out at this year's E3.

Kudo Tsunoda even gave me one himself! Now to get a Kinect... after I pay off an emergency room visit... and car repairs... and a 360 repair...

@bloodlinejake It's likely that joystiq doesn't have a photo of the actual animals that are coming out in 2011, so it used a photo of the ones that were given out earlier this year as a promo, before Natal was renamed.

How about a scannable Pit Bull. That might actually be fun to play with...

According to that tag, it's still called "Natal". XD

Well, it's a good thing they're not waiting too long after the game releases to get these out there.

that`d be really cool if they did something charity like, where buying said plushy would help to save a real life tiger.

I got one of those for my son and it's pretty well done. She makes a few different animals from VP.

I wonder how long Microsoft plan on supporting kinectimals with these plushie toys?

If you have a genuine first edition Nendoroid Plush Hatsune Miku, you can name whatever price you want.

Plush sackboy, big daddy, master chief helmet, maio/luigi, link... all these make sense.

Plush animals? Yea, those are real hard to find.

Yes, but the draw here is that a child can have the plush that then becomes a character in his or her game. It makes it more of a plush to the child. It's a damn good idea.

i wonder if they came out with a way to prevent someone from scanning the tags and posting them online so that people can have all the animals without having to buy these animals.
