Why do developers like giving things the same name?

@BlueRajasmyk I know, I got so confused there for a bit. I thought that they were using SVN to heist a bank and didn't see how that was even possible.

Meh, my comment was going to be 'I bet they use Git to store their code'. But you kind of did the reference already.

The real answer to your question is that if every thing was prohibited from having the same name as every other thing, then ALL games would have names like losers on social networking sites: _-Sub_Version_14-_ or something in this case...

I wonder if this will have a guitar hero effect where kids will think they can get away with a bank heist.

SVN is in essence "Sub Version", or a subsequent version, as opposed to this game, which is "subversion", or the art of subterfuge.

Seems like a cool idea but seems to be a similar idea as Frozen Synapse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXbsSLeINhg&feature=player_embedded

@Hunterprime What? They are nothing alike. One is a turn-based shooter, and the other is a real-time heist sim in a procedurally generated city. They are only similar in graphical style.

@(Unverified)

FS is turn-based and this is real-time. Personally, I'm more interested in Monaco - What's yours is mine.

Looks amazing! Can't wait to pre-order.

However, it should be worth nothing that this video is from June, so the build shown is already 5-6 months old.

Was just wondering the other day as to why there aren't any good Heist games. Hopefully bank heists will remain a part of this when it gets released.

Outside of that, if they can provide enough variety for mission completion (and the game gets up to expected polish), they can consider me a sale.
