According to Autopia, the vehicle weighs 474 pounds, is over 100" long and 23" wide, with the rider lying 28.5" from the ground. It looks awesome and we'd totally ride on one, but only after we did the responsible thing and registered as an organ donor. Check out some footage of the real-world Light Cycle after the break.

Yeah, you could see that turning was a problem even at >crawling speed.
In what state is that death trap considered street legal?
Exhibition, closed course; sure. Surface streets? Ya gotta be kidding me.

I don't see that thing turning at all when you pick up enough speed to have to counter steer. Maybe leaning slightly will turn it somewhat, but not enough to make any real turns.
Also, how is it street legal at all? I didn't notice any turn signals and a bike has to have those to be street legal.
Looks so uncomfortable.

If it doesn't light up, it's not worth having.

Imagine the show potential though. Doesn't need to be ride-friendly to make a return-on-investment.

looks cool as hell but... Headlights? No? So no night driving? That sucks.
No 2nd seat? So no chicks can ride with me? THAT REALLY SUCKS!
But its Tron... OK, IT ROCKS!

That looks uncomfortable to ride for long periods of time. Or short periods. Or at all. But still, it looks awesome!

The seem to have missed two of the more important components of a light cycle, turning and speed.

Apparently the visual effects in the Tron movie make it look like it's going fast. When really it's top speed is 5 mph. Damn you Hollywood! I had high hopes!

Because regular motorcycles aren't dangerous enough.

Add a self-destruct button THEN you could say that.
This is about as dangerous as a regular motorcycle. ...except only hunchbacked giants can ride it with ease.

Looks very unwieldy to drive.
Street-legal or not, I think this would garner a lot of attention from the cops.
I wonder if it has any jam, or if it's just a puttputt Harley Davidson Air-cooled V-twin.

No working lights like in Tron? Lame.

First let me say it LOOKS beautiful. It looks just like the light cycles from the movie but here's the problem. The bumpers are really really low covering much of the wheel. Also with it's wide and low profile and much of the wheel covered it's difficult to lean (where most steering is actually done in a motorcycle.) The reason they never got it "up to speed" is I doubt they could on anything but a drag strip and even then it would be dangerous as sin to do. You can't turn it effectively (you'll notice little leaning was done and most turning he did do was subtle adjustments using the handles.)
In essence this is a really beautiful vanity piece. If I had my own drag strip or access to one and had more money then sense I'd get one. Honestly I'd rather get a replica of the equally as impractical bike from Akira. That would at least be a bit more comfortable.

Is there a Tron board game included with the bike?

That thing is about 30% too big - theydriver has to stretch uncomfortably to reach the handles.

that kid's arms are too short to even turn the damn thing. lets see it on the highway with someone over 5'7" driving.

Is that a Harley trying to look like a Crotch Rocket? Or is this just a joke? Would be a cool item to have, if you were obsessed with Tron. =)

I'll keep my '03 Springer thank you. This thing looks cool, but unsafe. I doubt it can turn and you need 5 foot arms. I'd be interested to see how the wheels are held on though,,,unique engineering.

It's about as close to the real thing as you can get...but I just realized something. Lightcycles look pretty stupid! It reminds me of the pewter car from the Monopoly board game.
