what people don't realize is that much to our dismay, Uwe Boll's movies are very profitable, but not for the reasons you may think. Mr Boll takes advantage of a German tax loophole, whatever costs are associated with the film are reimbursed as long as the entire movie is shot in Germany with a German crew. meaning that any ticket sales that some (un)lucky viewer contributes, goes straight into the bank. Step 4: Profit

doesnt he fund it with his own money, then gets it back from the government through relief funds or some shit like that?

Could swear I read that... or something like it

@antv - Then someone get on the horn with Germany's money people, let them know about said loophole, inform them about crazy, tiny, troll-face man, and force his career into the shitter real quick.

@Mama Luigi I remember hearing that he's also funded by the Russian Mafia as a way to launder money. I wish he'd be attacked by ninjas.

Actually I kinda agree. I mean as a silly action romp through a fantasy medieval setting it wasn't that bad - it was hell of a lot better than Dungeons & Dragons, that's for sure (at the very least you can say it had Jason Statham kicking ass). In any case, I can honestly say it was the best Uwe Boll movie I've ever seen.

The cost may be a plane ticket. I reckon if he got a TSA pat down he'd punch the officer and spend a good while being questioned about boxing-related terrorism. (RIP Lowtax)

For those keeping score, his movies aren't terrorism, they're hate crimes.

What does Crank have to do with this other than Jason Statham? Uwe didn't do Crank, Mark Neveldine directed it.

Crank is awesome, but what has that got to do with this story? Uwe didn't have a hand in it at all. Or are you just bring up the cold hard fact that it's Jason Statham's best movie?

Sometimes I wonder whether Uwe Boll has deliberately become a parody of himself. Or whether he was just a massive troll from the very beginning.

i recently read that Uwe Boll made a movie about Darfur, and that while it's too heavy handed, it's way better than his video game movies.

Wonder if it's any good..

You can't tell me that when watching Crank 2 high ... its the greatest/most absurd movie of all time.

Anyway, those wondering why he keeps making movies. Well, his budgets are very small, yet his movies do sell on DVDs where the returns are met, thus his movies are actually profitable, people in Europe buy his DVDs....

As much as it just hurt saying that ...
