Stealth and Bond do not go together, bond is all about the extremes of Parachuting a car into a Russian nuclear facility and proceeding to blow it up because it's Tuesday afternoon.

Stealth and Raven don't seem to be a good mix either. Raven are great at balls to the wall action packed games, even if they don't sell well...

Weird choice by Activision here if it's true.

@iHavePants - Raven is a hit-or-miss studio. Wolverine was their highlight as a studio (hell, their X-Men games are their best), Wolfenstien was godawful, and Singularity wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great, either (story /definitely/ could have used some work). Their forté seems to be FPSes, but still, they all could use some work (Quake 4, anyone?).

I'm not impressed with Raven's FPS portfolio, and that an easily translate into a TPS. The idea of Raven working on a stealth-shooter based on Bond sends chills (of the bad kind) down my spine.

Funny thing about those things you said, they happen to be opinions. Raven made Hexen, Heretic, the first two good Soldier of Fortune games, Jedi Knight Outcast and Academy, Wolverine, Wolfenstein and Singularity. All of which IMO were great games, for their time at least. Don't make the mistake of trying to go back to SOF2, it's terrible now.

Was the story in Wolfenstein stupid and forgettable? Sure. Was it a Wolfenstein game and that was to be expected? Yep. The action was just so smooth and a massive power trip and that's all it wanted and needed to be.

I take it from your game selection that you've only played their console releases? I can't comment on the quality of those versions, but their PC builds are great.

I will agree though that Quake 4 was bad, but then again it seemed like the Doom3 engine was just a piece of crap in general for shooters.

And then I remembered what Wolfenstein was made on... it was super modified though.

I just beat Singularity this weekend, and it was way better than I expected. Honestly one of my recent favorites. It was like Bioshock, except the shooting is fun. Creepy, immersive setting. Interesting (if a little convoluted) storyline. They SHOULD be working on more of that, not some probably-bound-to-be-mediocre-like-all-the-rest Bond game.

@Jerk Face I thought of Bioshock when I started playing, which was very recent, completely fell off my radar... Way funner than Bioshock and a complete surprise... the remote bullet, time rifts, TMD such cool addition into the fps genre... and the fact that i got this for 20$ all the more better, worth more than that of course !@

Release them from DLC creation slavery in time to make a Deadpool game to accompany the movie, that is all I'm asking.

I dunno, if it's a movie licensed thing and they base if off the movie version of Deadpool, then you might not want that wish to come true.

Whose wrong-headed notion was that, anyway? "I know, guys. Let's take a character who is known for his sharp wit and dialogue... and remove his mouth!" Seriously?

Even before it was stated that a Deadpool movie would indeed be about good ol' 'Pool and not that... thing Wade became in that wretched film, Raven said they would base it on the comic version rather than the Origins portrayal.
So that's a double confirmation.

Wait is this how Activision kills studios now? "Hey, here is this Bond game we want you to work on. We know its not in a genre your experienced at developing but try your best. Oh and if this doesn't break 5 million in the first month we are canning your asses."

If that was the case, then Treyarch wouldn't be around anymore.

Actually, that's what I think of first. Specifically, I think of turning enemies into a helpless piglet, then freezing the piglet solid, then blasting it into a hundred tiny bits. Oh, and the Wraithverge.

Ah, good times, good times.

I would buy a Raven-developed Wolverine game LONG before I'd buy a Raven-developed Bond game. Activision's priorities are all kinds of ass-backwards.

I would kill for a Wolverine game done in a style like Arkham Asylum i.e. darker and more mature. Screw the movies, just focus on Wolverine.

Jason Statham needs to replace Daniel Craig as Bond ASAP. THEN we will be guaranteed to get the right combination of badassery and humor (and hopefully gadgets) that makes Bond so great.

Jason Statham needs to replace Timothy Olyphant in the next Hitman movie and Clive Owen needs to replace Daniel Craig as the next bond.

Statham is the most prolific British action film star in the last 10 years. Clive Owen always does different types of roles. Statham would combine Brosnan's timing and humor with whatever it is that Daniel Craig does. Daniel Craig is a great actor who has done a lot of different movies but Statham would be the better Bond. Doesn't matter if Statham shaves his head either.
