Despite earlier intentions for a 2010 launch, it seems that Sony Online Entertainment's spy MMO The Agency has been delayed once more, this time being pushed into the second half of 2011. In a recent interview, Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley noted as much, saying the game still "needed a lot of work."
"There was a moment in time in our company where we looked at our own stuff with a clear eye and saw we have to do better," Smedley explained. "DC Universe was held for a year-and-a-half from when we wanted to launch it and now I'm very happy with it." And we don't blame him -- when we last played The Agency it felt a bit underdone. Hopefully the folks at SOE Seattle will take the extra year to make a truly worthwhile multiplayer experience.

@Chris DPSN AggieCEO XBLThe Aggi Yeah it is PC/PS3, but this game has been talked about almost since the launch of the PS3. I don't even know if it still has the same game design or anything, but I suppose we will "find out" next year.
I honestly don't see this ever coming out.

It looks like a rip off to be honest. I mean, from the few gameplay videos ive seen it has a dungeon/raid system exactly like WoW. its classes are almost exactly like wow gameplay wise, the voice acting sucks. I just think its been overhyped to hell.

I'd have to agree. Admittedly, we haven't seen a whole lot of the game, but the more we've seen the less impressed I've been. Seems to very much be a bog standard MMO. I'm sure it'll be good.. but it's not going to take on WoW.
If I were going to bet on anything being a big competitor, it's Guild Wars 2. It's doing things very different and trying to be it's own thing, rather than trying to emulate WoW with a Star Wars skin over it. And being free to play is going to bring in the crowd big time.
I still don't think it's going to surpass WoW, it just has the advantage of being able to co-exist, thanks to it being fundamentally different and lacking the subscription.

Exactly. Im still going to stick with WoW simply because i prefer the lore to Guild Wars, but if i were ever going to make an MMO i would do what Guild Wars has done. Make it pretty much a different experiance. Its stupid trying to emulate the most successful MMO ever created.

That was the part he left out. I've been looking forward to this, but I'm really leery of SOE after what happened to EQ/EQ2 and Galaxies.

What is SOE's strategy here? I mean with their MMO track record they really need concentrate on one project at a time. I'm pretty sure DCUO will, at beast, be a mildly successful game that will level off with a moderate subscription base within about a year and then cruise on that for another couple of years. And this, well, if it lasts a year I'll be genuinely surprised.

Back in 2007 I was dying to get my hands on this game. At this point it has all the makings of a flop. Prove me wrong SOE.

AUGH. This is the only game I have been waiting to play since years ago. I want them to get it right, but man... you're killing me Sony.

Thank god they're pushing it back. It seems like they announced this game yester.. decade.
You know what the saddest thing is? Even this game and LA Noire are going to make out before Diablo 3.
