So, did anyone here actually take these dance moves out to an actual dancefloor and what happened next?

@Pure Black World Tendency You mean you think they would a) actually do that and b) would be here to tell the tale?

@Pure Black World Tendency I haven't but the cool thing about the game is the dance moves aren't nearly as wack as you would think they could be.

I won the world dancing championship, hooked up with a beautiful woman that had my children and we lived peacefully in a small rural community until she digged through my boxes and found Dance Central.

She ousted me as a fraud, took my children away and we went through a large divorce that ultimately led to me being thrown on the street. On the street itself, my dance moves meant nothing and I was ready to kill myself.

Fate would have it the car I ran into to commit suicide was actually a Delorean, sending me back into the past where I can correct my mistakes and warn people to not try Dance Central moves in public.

@Mama Luigi you went back in time? Sorry, that's where your story stopped being believable. Not buying it.

I have a feeling most of these sells are due to recommendations from "gamers" to "non-gamers" who where asking what all this Kinnect business is about.

It helps when Dance central is the only good kinect game, that and it was given out free as promotions like candy

@Faenix By one company, old navy, which had like 5 Copys per store on one day of the busiest shopping day of the year.

I bought a copy. It's Harmonix you don't mind sucking them off when it's Rock Band people.

@Faenix

It also helps that items given away don't figured into sales data.

It deserves it in my opinion. There is not a more fun game on Kinect than Dance Central. Its the only game where my wife and her friends actually got me off my Xbox 360, and for a week straight it belonged to her. I don't know if thats a good thing, but it just shows you the power of Microsoft's shift in marketing strategy.

@Spunky Monkey 190906 Yeah but USAers can still make fun of UKers by keeping it at the top of their charts for a year ;)

@Spunky Monkey 190906 Sure they can. Last time I was at a club, you didn't see people holding drinks attached with a cable, shaking said drinks around.

I wonder how long until it eclipses Just Dance 2. I mean this game actually makes you dance, Just Dance is just some kind of last-gen Wiimote waggle affair.

There is no contest between the two titles, but don't be fooled. There is a huge barrier to entry with the price of the peripheral.

Kinect will have to drop in price AND be bundled with this game for it to achieve those kind of sales.

Its great fun though. I'll own it before the month is over.

Some well-deserved good news for Harmonix, right when they could use some.

@Mr Bungo

Yeah this could end up outselling Rock Band 3.

@Raffi256 Sadly, outselling Rock Band 3 (which is amazing) doesn't sound too hard.

I bought Dance Central with a Kinect the same way a lot of people buy Rock Band bundles and have to say, it was worth every penny. It's a damned great game (and the first rhythm-based game I've personally enjoyed since blowing $100+ on Samba De Amigo a decade ago).

Those 3 games are also the most solid as well. Makes sense that theyre the top selling.

Yourself Fitness kicks my ass though. Wish I wasn't so out of shape -_-
