This reminds me of the last big metal gear with the CGI and what not...and I like it!

This game might have the most impressive CGI I've seen since MGS4. I'm totally serial guys!

What? MGS4 didn't have CGI at all, did it?

as true to in-game engine as the World of Warcraft ads...

utterly useless...

game trailers should be forced to have "not actual in-game or in-engine footage."

it's almost false advertising or bait-and-switch...

so can i. irrelevant. Mass Effect never had to market itself that way. It's a pussy way to market. why not just throw a gigantic pair of tits on the ad for 5 minutes. same thing. it ain't got nuthin to do with the game - neither does this trailer.

Mass effect had those prerendered interview vids of each character. They looked wicked cool but weren't part of the game.

Actually these trailers are supposed to set the mood for the game and give a feel for the story. If you weren't so arrogant you'd see that.

What about live action game advertisements? I don't remember seeing a "not actual gameplay footage" when Kobe was getting his rifle on. How dare they raise my hopes!

@ChomskyKnows The cgi has everything to do with the game. Believe it or not many people, myself included, go for high end movie quality cgi. Call me crazy I like a good story.

@Noir Noir gets it. This world is immediately familiar to those who love 'Shadowrun' or read Gibson's novels, like 'Neuromancer' or 'Mona Lisa Overdrive', or even the classic 'Snowcrash' (from the minimized government, maximum corporates perspective). Vids like this present a future different from the one the audience has seen in venues as varied as 'Star Trek' (post-dystopia optimistic future) to the 'Halo' setting (alien-infused world of endless combat). It snapped me right back to the feel of the first 'Deus Ex'!

@A11smart Yeah, this isn't another spacey sci-fi shooter or fantasy swords game, this is technocreepy dystopian Cyberpunk. These videos really show off the rich, and as of this gen, fresh world this game is going to take place in. Given the fact its so driven by the single player experience, this is an important step towards giving the game a proper introduction and context - especially to those unfamiliar with Deus Ex.

Plus, there's already been a gameplay trailer.

Actually, while the World of Warcraft CG is absolutely nothing like the gameplay in WoW, the gameplay videos they've shown of this so far have the protagonist doing the same stuff he's been shown doing in the trailers.

So yeah, while the visuals are obviously better, the cloaking and various other abilities they're showing are in the game.

But the police opening fire on the rioters, where they were previously pushing them back with riot shields etc—isn't the outbreak of a police slaughter the breaking news?

You can download the music from the trailer at the official Deus Ex website. Best of all, it's free.

I say that now, but there is probably some magic personal data stealing cookie attached to it that will cost me 3 years of my life and make me go bald before I'm 30.

Damn delicious cookies!

I like Deus Ex but why is this game full of the yellow pee mist from Haze? Deus Ex 1 had a wide ranging colour pallet for something that's supposed to take place in a dystopia, so why does this game have to be displayed entirely in grey and yellow?
