So, you've finally managed to topple the impossibly low track times set by your unlawful friends in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, learning how to handle the game's fastest, most reckless automobiles along the way. The "Super Sports" DLC pack, due out on December 21 on Xbox 360, and December 22 on PSN, will to add 13 new events and three cars to the game: The Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the GUMPERT Apollo S and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. We bet they're as difficult to drive as they are to pronounce.
The pack will run you $6.99 USD (560 Microsoft Points), which might seem like a bit much for three new cars and 13 new races. Still, think of the joy you'll get when driving the Bugatti Veyron while playing on the law enforcement team, effectively turning yourself into the world's fanciest cop.

I guess the cost being too much depends on how many of those 13 events are Time Trials or Rapid Response, and how many are the actual fun Hot Pursuit, Interceptor, Race parts of the game.

@bittermang That's my main gripe with the game. How are you going to put just a few hot pursuit races in a game called hot pursuit? I truly despise the rapid response runs but they do teach you good driving and shortcuts. Online is perfect though.

I'm pretty excited about this. Do any of you guys wish you could have free roam in multiplayer?

@mattyonesix I don't so much wish for that as much as I just wish there was a reason for free roaming to exist. It's probably the most pointless mode I've ever found in any game I've ever played.
Otherwise, the game is fantastic. I'll be grabbing this DLC pack on day one. I love that it comes with more then just cars and adds new events as well. Would love to see some new achievements/trophies attached to the events too.

I find myself rarely interested in buying new cars for racing games. I mean, the difference between 50 cars and 53 cars isn't really noticeable to me. Maybe "car guys" would care about this more, but for me, what's already on the disc is plenty (and the game itself is awesome).

I've been enjoying Hot Pursuit quite a bit. I didn't dislike Burnout Paradise, but I felt it wasn't the right direction for the Burnout series. To me, Hot Pursuit felt more Burnout-ish than Burnout Paradise. I love the aggressiveness of the Burnout series, and Paradise just seemed to shy away from that. Also, it had the *worst* incarnation of Crash Mode. Bring back the puzzle-esque Crash Mode of Burnout 3!
To go further off topic, I think the next Burnout should take a step back and bring back some elements of Burnout 1 (I unfortunately haven't played Burnout 2, so I can't comment on that one). The streets felt incredibly real and it felt like you were dodging real traffic; the traffic itself was the key element of the races, whereas in Burnout 3 it was more like a tool to try and eliminate other players. Finding a sweet spot between Burnout 1's focus on navigating traffic skillfully and Burnout 3's rough and dirty racing would be excellent.

I was hoping to be free, but then again I think they couldn't reach the 1 million mark on the youtube video. Shame....

These are 3 different cars then the 3 cars in the YouTube promo.
As for this being sold? I will not be buying, but I will still be playing the game. Part of me was hoping the would following in Burnout Paradise footsteps, but this is a different game/franchise.
However if they open up more locations on the map, add race replays, and add in free roam multiplayer? I will be buying those on day one if they do not get too greedy.

Yet another game that came to PC, yet the DLC didn't. Why port the game but not the DLC? At least make it a SteamWorks game and sell the DLC through Steam.

@ipsum I liked this one a bit, it just wasn't one I would come back to every day to play. I guess it's because there aren't as many stunts to pull off. I still really love cruising through freeroam and taking snapshots.
I've never played a NFS game before so I didn't know what to expect but I'm very impressed after what I heard was a bad series. Did the other games have stunt ramps and boost or were they just pure racers?
And I'm guessing that they didn't put FreeRoam Multiplayer in because it might take away from what the Burnout Paradise has/had. Still, free drive cops and racers would be awesome. I think there is something like that in game actually but it is only 1v1.
