Hes a first party character, so its not timed, its permanent.
I believe 360 would have had one if it had a more viable candidate other than gears. Others may have thought it a good idea, but I fail to see how guns would be a fair fight against swords and chains etc, even with the chainsaw.

We don't need another Teen-rated Mortal Kombat rated!!!!
I think any possibility of an xbox exclusive character would only be an afterthought... kinda like Lost Planet 2's exclusive characters.

@Manifest37 - The only thing I can see happening is Marcus Fenix, but Cliffy wants Carmine.
But either one doesn't compare to the absolute brutalness that Kratos is bringing. I've already made up my mind on the multi-platform purchase, and taking PS3 over 360 is the first in a long time. Kratos FTW.

Generally, Microsoft doesn't want Rare doing anything they have done before. We have Perfect Dark Zero, which was in production before they were aquired, and a few Banjo-Kazooie games, but other than that, none of their games are from previous IP's. So we are unlikey to see another.
It's a shame, too. Microsoft's aquisition of the company basically ruined them. Almost none of the original employees are there anymore.

@swapnilgyani - Not sure who this "Master Chef" is, but Master Chief wouldn't fit in Mortal Kombat; there was already in a fighting game (the female Spartan in DOA4), and he's not necessarily as "violent" as other characters, nor is Halo as brutal as God of War or Gears of War.

I thought I made it clear that the use of Master Chief would only be possible if it was not so violent which would result in a T rating.
Just because halo is rated M DOES NOT mean MS would give the thumbs up on seeing Master Chief get sawed in half.

I know that, the female one, I wasn't talking about that, I was talking about how they originally want MC in it, Bungie and Micro said no, so instead they took the suit and replaced original MC with a female spartan.
In fact, possibly the only original female character in DOA, considering the rest were just copy paste and edit.

Mortal Kombat has always been home to bland, uninteresting, soulless characters. Kratos fits right in really, seeing as he's the blandest, most uninteresting shell of a character in gaming these days.

Personally I thought his angry personality was far more interesting then the shitstorm of big brutish macho men killing of people from other countries, robots, zombies or aliens that the likes of CoD, Halo, Crysis, Gears, Killzone and all the rest seem to shove down our throats. In contrast, his -in reality- stupidly simple persona actually makes him far more interesting to see then most if not all of those main characters, to me at least.

Just about the only character that could be viable for a 360 exclusive character would be Ryu Hayabusa... this comment would make sense, if it were a few years ago when the series was exclusive to Microsoft, heh.
Fable, HALO, Gears of War... they just don't fit as well as Kratos. So, chances are, they'll throw MS fans a bone and make a 360 exclusive character that will show up on the PSN after a set amount of time.

Sony and MK devs have been talking quite a bit, as MK devs were the first to mention PSP2's power, chance are while they were having a look at it, Sony convinced them to stick Kratos into MK. Just a hunch.
