From the VGAs Red Carpet: Treyarch's Mark Lamia
25
With Infinity Ward's studio heads on the outs with Activision, it was up to Treyarch to take over the Call of Duty series, and according to fan reception, it did exactly that. "The response that I've gotten," Treyarch head Mark Lamia tells us, "is that people are happy with the game." But he says during VGA's red carpet event that it was never about competition among Activision's studios. "We've just got to stay focused on what we want, what we're making and our own creative, and that's really the best way to do your best work."
Now that it's become the Call of Duty heir apparent, what's next for Treyarch? "First thing we're doing," says Lamia, " is we're still working on Black Ops." Lamia promises Treyarch is listening to the community and will be responsive in tuning the game and providing new content. "So everyone who bought and is investing their time in Black Ops, they can expect that that's just how we work." Lamia says Treyarch is in fact "a Call of Duty studio as far as anyone is concerned."
World at War's Zombies mode had a successful life on the iPhone, and we asked if Treyarch was considering trying to replicate that success with Black Ops. Lamia says he trusts developers Ideaworks to do a good job on a sequel if that's what they choose to do, but "it's not a question of can we do it or is it good to do it, it's really about focus. Right now we are just focused on the PC and console skus that were just launched. There's millions of people playing every day, and we're focused on supporting that."

Maybe there next CoD can, you know, be on par from Xbox 360 and PS3.. instead of PS3 looking like balls. Hell I hear PC version was shafted too.

@DigitalFortress No, Please get your facts straight
1) Game runs at an avg of 45 FPS on the PS3 instead of 60FPS on xbox 360.
2) Game is native at 540p instead of 600p. (1040x608 for xbox 360 and 960x544 for PS3)
So before you bash other members, know what you're talking about. The PS3 version is utter crap. I hope Treyarch never makes a PS3 game again, make it a 360 exclusive at this point.

So glad Treyarch fixes things. Pathetic Infinity Ward wouldn't even fix that stupid rock glitch and ruined half a map.
@Faenix I got the game on PS3 and 360; I completely agree with you. The PS3 version is utter crap.

Agree 100%. Modern Warfare 2 was a joke. Glad that Treyarch was able to make that game a distant memory.

Yeah, they did a great job alright. I still enjoy MW2, but all of the problems in that gamenstand out more after playing Black Ops for a while.

They better still be working on Black Ops. The PC version is still riddled with bugs and has huge performance issues. Meanwhile, Modern Warfare 2 (minus the lack of dedicated servers) performed pretty much flawlessly from day one.

Fact! The PC version is a shambles at the moment.
Firstly, despite the fact it's an X-Box port, the minimum specifications and recommended specifications are rediculously high. Secondly, it's glitchy and stutery for the majority of the players, even those on Quad Core I7's, 6+ GB Ram and next gen video cards.

Fix the lag, at times it's just downright unbearable! Other than that, great game.

@Sgt Cell Yes, the lag is absolutely terrible (@ least on PS3). I've never sold a COD game until this one. I just couldn't take it. The poor hit detection combined with lag is a combination for constant frustration. I felt I had about 60% control of my K/D ratio. Sometimes it'd take me 10 minutes just to get into a match. I averaged being kicked from 2 of 5 games due to connection issues. I wanted to love this game. Was a great game on paper, but poorly executed, IMO. Maybe they'll patch it enough for me to hop back in someday.

I wonder if MW2 got enough support if they would eventually release another map pack for it.

to me black ops is single player especially is way better than mw2. And the multiplayer 2

Mw2 was just too explosion friendly, if you guys played the multiplayer as much I have on both people will notice that mw2 was all noob tubes and launchers...whereas black ops still has the occasional tuber but nowhere remotely close to the explosion friendly mw2
