Great stuff, really enjoying this. Hopefully the new content won't take too long.

Wow. I love it when quality is rewarded the right way. Micro payments for great content seem to be the way to go.

In my eyes it's probably the best looking handheld game yet.

Uh....technical quality isn't subjective. This game objectively blows away anything on PSP in terms of visual fidelity.

Interesting, so the actual Engine is up and running on Android for other developers to use, they just have no plans to port their own titles.

They probably don't feel like having to test hundreds of different OS versions and hardware configurations.

@Adhesive

Why downvote someone for wanting an Android version? There's more Android users than iOS out there.

Personally, though, I'd like Epic to work on something(not this) for the 3DS.

There are more handsets running Android, presumably with human users, but far fewer sales in its app store. iOS has better platform solidarity, is easier to develop for, and it's where the money is.

Plus, remember Infinity Blade isn't just going on iPhones, but also iPod Touches and iPads (both 3G and wifi only). It's a universal app. I'm pretty sure if you factor in all the non-wireless iOS stuff, it outnumbers Android.

Another thing to note: the max size for apps on android was 25 megs, which was just upped to 50 megs (today, I believe). I think that is probably too small for IB, and a lot of other stuff as well.

I did the math and you didn't take into account apple's cut of the game's price. that's probably a lot less that 280K people.

@Ziv
The 280K was how many users. I'm pretty sure Apple takes cuts from the money, not the users.. That would be interesting if Apple kidnapped 33% of the game's users, though.

So, 280K * $6 = $1,680,000; 66% of that is $1,108,800.. Which, yes, is less than 1.7 million, yet Epic says profits are higher. So, who knows?

Its nice to see this doing well, more games like this should be on IPhone and iPad, not much has really pushed the potential of them both to the maximum.

I actually had my Infinity Blade app completely disappear from my phone (and my mac) today.

Hopefully just something glitchy limited to me.

I just watched footage of this for the first time, and this is nothing more than a show of what's graphically possible on the iOS platform. Gameplay is next to non-existent and it looks pretty slow.

When they can make a game look this good and have engaging gameplay to back it up, then I'll be somewhat impressed.

Wut? Gameplay is great. Not much to do != bad gameplay.

They did just a little (sword fights) but did it really well. Give me this over imaginary analog sticks (Nova, Assassin's Creed, most ports) anyday.

Awesome graphics but it really needs some longstanding gameplay to go behind it. Hopefully Epic's next release will be more worthwhile (even if it costs more)
