Open up Dead Rising 2: Case West on Dec. 27

Be sure to finish any games you receive as holiday gifts immediately upon receipt. Capcom is calling for your attention in Fortune City on December 27. That's when the XBLA-exclusive Dead Rising 2 epilogue, Case West, will slide down the virtual chimney and appear under the Xbox Live Marketplace-shaped tree. It's priced at 800 Microsoft Points.

For that price, you'll get more than just a suddenly sleazier-looking version of Dead Rising's protagonist (it must be those shades). Case West is a new scenario set inside the "Phenotrans Facility," offering co-op gameplay and, of course, the return of the photography mechanic.

Well it has co-op this time, so I could see why they would double the price.

@mcnichoj I want to see the sales comparison between this and Case Zero. $5 is the perfect catch, and that's why Zero did so well. Let's see if the sales for this become a lesson learned.

I hope they've fixed his running animation.

Considering that Case Zero was a marketing tool to get people excited for Dead Rising 2 it made sense to sell it for 5 bucks. By this point you've already decided whether or not you will buy DR2. If not, then they don't care whether you buy this DLC. If so, you are excited to get to play as the original protagonist once more so 10 dollars isn't unreasonable.

The fact that this DLC doesn't require DR2 makes it seem like a good deal to me. And it will eventually go on sale for 5 dollars if you want to wait a while.

Will Frank be covering wars in this DLC? He's done that, y'know?

According to GameInformer the answer is: No, you don't need DR2 to play this. It's a standalone DLC just like Case Zero.

I wonder if there will be goodies that we can earn for DR2? it would make me happy ^.^

Got Case Zero but pass on this.

Didn't know Tom Jones was in any video games.

I'm in, I got way more than $5 worth of fun out of Case Zero, and really liked DR2 as well... I don't see why this will be any different, even at $10.

10 is too much for me.

@TheMCFacemanBandcampcom - It's an "XBLA-exclusive," so it'll be distributed on the Arcade, as opposed to the Marketplace, which it would fall under the DLC/add-on moniker.

Case 0 wasn't a DLC. It was an arcade game/glorified demo.

Neither is Case West a DLC.

What I wonder is, can I play as Frank West in single-player?

If not, I don't think I will get this. At least won't get it right away, that's for sure.
