I Must Run! dashes onto PSN, jumps to Europe next week
16
I Must Run! (which gives us that Mirror's Edge iOS vibe) will make a mad dash to the Minis section of PSN this week in North America, next week in Europe. The gameplay requires players to jump, punch and slide their way through each level, scoring points for jumping and landing close to the building's ledge, along with punching items for multipliers.
The European price for the PSN version will be €2.99, with pricing in the States set at $3.99. Don't have a PlayStation device but like what you're looking at? It's also available on iPhone for $1. Run past the break for the trailer.

That's so not a rip-off of Canabalt.

Looks cool. So, speaking of Mirror's Edge, where's Mirrors Edge 2?

@gmrtom7 Seems it didn't sell enough to warrant a sequel. Which is sad.

@Pure Black World Tendency It's sold at least a million on each PS3 and 360, it damn well better get a sequel! Plus, they've released a version on iOS, and I can't see why they would have bothered if the franchise wasn't popular enough.
DICE was pretty coy about it earlier this year, they wouldn't confirm or deny. Here's hoping that the only reason we haven't heard anything is from the EDGE trademark BS that was finally settled a few months ago ...
Mirror's Edge is one of my favourite games, my fingers have been crossed for a sequel for two years now.

Also, if it's in development, I'd wonder if they'd be having trouble transitioning everything into Frostbite which could account for them keeping mum on it.
These are the things I have to tell myself to keep thinking it's actually in development at least :(

It's like Canabalt with crap music. I can't believe Canabalt hasn't been mentioned in the article.

Already been said, but, it's Canabalt with worse music and the jumping looks really weird, like he accelerates too fast. Might try it anyway.

I would only get this if it played Erasure songs in the background the whole time.

This is how not to do the comic book style in a game. Sucker Punch got it mostly right with inFamous; like they said, just making the game copy comics with panels and written sound effects isn't how to do it. It just ends up being stupid. Instead, make it like it's a game inspired by comics rather than a game with comic ideas shoehorned in. Of course, inFamous could have done in better itself, particularly by having its cutscenes look like they weren't made in Flash.

Robot Unicorn is also a rip off of Canabalt, but it's pretty awesome- so why aren't either on the PSP/PS3 instead of only having This imitation offering? They'd be able to charge the standard $3 to $4 mark up that they don't do for iOS and Android devices, and they wouldn't have to worry about Apple's app-refund policy (not sure how the Android marketplace works with that).

@manobon Robot Unicorn attack isnt as much of a ripoff as this is. The stages are more oddly shaped there's an actual attack method and it's a rainbow maned robot UNICORN. This thing practically copies the running and jumping animation frame for frame.
If it werent for the fact that you can double jump in this game I'd say the guy that created Canabalt could sue for money if they havent already paid him for this... and the rooftop chase mode in the Facebook game they made for The Agency which also rips Canabalt off pretty blatantly.

The game is actually already out since today in Europe on PSN, not next week.
