I love the comic book style
Looks like a motion game that appeals to our audience, and its $15, does any more need to be said?

well, if the camera sometimes ignores your inputs... so isn't it actually the problem kinect is suffering? kinect is eyetoy 1.5, isn't it? the biggest mistake in the game history...

@ichibansony I'd say that the only people who "aren't paying attention" are those claiming Kinect is a failure after only a month on the market. A month in which, it's worth noting, it's handily outsold PS Move (which, while not the worst mistake in gaming history (that'd be the Virtual Boy, FYI,) is no more than a cheap knockoff of a 4 year old game controller.

Personally, I do hope that both Move and Kinect fail, but looking at the numbers it's pretty difficult to claim that Kinect has already failed. Move, on the other hand...

So you're judging Kinect based on it's first batch of games? Everyone knows that most of the games released on new hardware suck. Give the developers more time with it. If, in a year, the problems with the thing go unresolved, THEN you can bitch about it.

Internationally? you mean Japan?

Because Kinect is selling over 300,000 units a week in Europe.

Kinect Adventures was #3 on the EU charts last week. There were 3 Kinect games in the top 30.

There were no Move games in the top 30.

Sure sounds like a Kinect is failing internationally /s

Playstation Eye Hacks you say ?

http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/maximum_pc_builds_a_multitouch_surface_computer?page=0,2 -- The mother of all hacks a surface PC using a playstation eye...

In the UK, which happens to have the biggest Xbox360 market in Europe, play.com has its best selling Games as follows:

1. GT5
2. Just Dance 2..
...
28. Playstation Move motion Controller
29. Playstation Move Bundle
31. Playstation Move Nav Controller
34. Wii MotionPlus
35. Kinect Sports
36. Kinect

Yeah I can see how it was the 3rd best selling last week, I think you missed a zero there somewhere, 30th maybe ? Even the Nav controller outsold the Kinect last week, even Wii MotionPlus..

In the rest of Europe PS3 outsells the the 360 pretty much..

@McDuckScrooged Isnt the US the biggest market for video games? Isnt the 360 outselling all console in the US lately?

So one retailers stats must make it true for the rest of the country?

The UK sales chart on Joystiq tracks sales from more than just a retailer. Perhaps you shouldn't pick and choose stats to benefit you.

Also, that hack could be done with any webcam. There wasn't anything special about the PSEye that made that possible other than it was reasonably easy to open it up and swap out the lens filter.

@Xcrucio really do some research there's plenty of PS eye hacks out there including 3d scanning., but it's much older so you don't hear about them much. To bad all the good Kinect hacks have nothing to do with video games. So.. yeah. Kinect is riding the the massive advertising attack for the moment but there's going to be a time were the games will need to see the system and so far they aren't there. Also keep in mind sony isn't throwing the cash behind advertising their tech like MS so for the move to sale on par or just below kinect is considered nothing but a success in my book.

@SuiXide See every console I've ever owned (about all of them) has had at least one or two great games at launch that didn't suck at all. What's going to keep kinect from being great for video games is they exact way they advertise to play it. It's not going to be something people cant wait to turn on at that end of a long day at work. In the long run kinect will be place away and rarely used a few weeks after purchased by most of it's users. It's a novelty that wears off fast.

Wow are you ladies the majority shareholders of MS and Sony or do you all just like to bitch and moan this much? Who gives a rats ass as long as you are having fun with either one and the company is supporting it. In this case its a win win because both platforms have seen success and games for it are being developed.

Yes, the PS3 does outsell the 360 in area of the world where they don't speak english.

Everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE that english is the dominant language the 360 is ahead.

Maybe something is lost in translation?

It also looks like your play.com list is not representative of the country as a whole. Sorry but int the one retailer trend vs country wide charting, I think I will side with the the latter.

@Ordeith 360 is a head in America, and only America. Playstation has every where else. Take into account the 360s year lead how they dominate America only to sit just 4 million consoles higher than the playstation brand should tell you that ms isn't doing aswel as everyone would like to think they are. Now let's take into account rrod and other hardware failures, people buying more than one console to replace broken ones and you'll see the playstattion actually has a larger install base. Besides nintendo has the lead hands down. . Pull your skirt up, your fan boy is showing.

I have to agree about the peoplw buying multiple 360's because I was on another site and one person was so excited that his xbox RROD and he finally got to upgrade to the new 360S and he was talking about the great deal he got because it came with kinect for $400.00 and I said what a great deal because he spent atleast $300.00 on his first 360 and the he spent $400.00 on his new 360 so that seem to be the bargain price of $700.00 not including the possible extra items for his original 360. What I see is people who are 360 owners seem to be so brainwashed because they always seem to be ok buying multiple of the same systems when it RROD's so anyone who says microsoft is destroying the PS3 should really consider all of the consoles bought because there original broke. I know microsoft now warenties the RROD now but that was not always the case and the new 360S is what microsoft should have made in the first place but they had to be the first to release a second gen system which was faulty to begin with and microsoft new it so if you remove all of the second, third and fourth rebuys from microsofts numbers you would see that sony would have alrady caught up and passed microsoft in sales as far as kinect goes the fad will wear off when developers relize they cannot please the core gamers which FPS game which seem to not be possible unless the caractor is on rails and core gamers will play that but they will get bored fast and get rid of their kinects and when core gamers are not happy( which they are the main people that play xbox) that is when kinect get a controller or just goes away and if you fanbois do not like what I wrote just remember the truth hurts.

No surprise we get a good review here since IGN was super harsh on this game, this is why I like Joystiq's reviews much better than IGN's reviews. Great review and I definitely plan to pick this one up as soon as I can afford it.

This game helps me not feel jealous about the Kinect...

Which, I guess I wasn't really jealous about anyway. Heck, I haven't even bought the Move yet..

It's a hilarious concept, though. And probably a lot easier to do than full detection. Interpreting a sprite's collision is probably a log less laggy than 3-dimensional skeletal detection.

I'm having a vision of the future for Move...yes its coming clearly now...I see popularity never reaching mainstream levels...Sony deciding to drop most major support...third party titles from Wii and Kinect will be ported, Wii titles will do okay in the porting process and Kinect titles will lack on the Move due to the lack of the advanced camera...oh I'm losing the vision..time will tell.

You are just an idiot maybe in your vision is just reversed. And it is kinect that what you are seing is a failure by it and you will have Wii ported games that will be ok but wait most of the games already mimic the Wii wjich like most people that have Wii's never even turn them on so I am guessing that will also happen to the kinect because most poeple on xbox like FPS games and it really looks like making FPS games for kinect will be difficult and if they are made the caracter will most likely be on rails whixh will eventually get old so I am seeing this gimmick called Kinect fading with no support and becoming a dust collecter just like the Wii or I also fogot to say that they will try to port games from the PS movw but the lack of controller on kinect will make that impossible so have while you can because it is not going to last very long. Also think about what you are going to with your kinect when Microsoft releases their new system in 2 years and you xbox will play the new games but kinect can still be used but in order for you to be able to use it you will have buy a new system which is typical microsoft forcing you to buy new to use technoligy that was compatable with the old system so I hope you enjoy spending more money.

@russ1713 Oh..okay. So Kinect is more like Wii? How could I have been so blind? It is like Wii in a way, it sells very well. How about this, come back one year from now and tell me how great Move has done compared to Kinect. I'll honestly be surprised if by that time Move isnt on the back burner hanging out with Home. Please remember. If this thread isnt here send an email to Chris@myfilespot.net and put Kinect in the subject line.

I may have made my "prediction" in a joking manner but you're only kidding yourself about yours.

The reason I say kinect is like the Wii is because it will only be able to shovelware unless they add some kind of controller with it that is why I said mkve will outlast the kinect because of the controller factor. If you honestly think that kinect can do FPS games that are not onrails you are just kidding yourself and I really do think that any core gamer on the xbox will get tired of playing games on rails or if the game makes you run in place nobody that plays FPS game are not going to want to that and anyway how acurate will the kinect pick up the fingers to be able to shoot the gun right so stop kidding yourself that kinect can do all that the move can do minus the controllerso until microsoft adds a controller it will only be capable of shovelware.

I downloaded it. Its fun, but my living room is pretty small, and theres not much lighting in it, so it was kind of frustrating to set up as I could either have the camera recognize parts of my body, or a bubble surrounding it. Just keep that in mind!
