Is everybody getting "video forbidden" in the video field, or is it just me?

So many FPS's. My head's gonna @ssplode.

This game does look cool, as does Bulletstorm.

I would like to see more quality RPG's on the 360 though.

@DeXterminator I would like to see shooters that put some more effort in multiplayer tension - rather than making everything as explosive as possible. I've already seen that a dozen times.

@DeXterminator Well, if there were not already a boatload of great jRPGs and wester-RPGs already on the 360 (around 50 or so, which amounts to an average of 10 RPGs per year on the system), then 2011 is going to be your year with the likes of Deus Ex, Dragon Age 2, Venetica, XCOM, Two World's 2 (which I hear is a massive improvement over the original), Dungeon Siege 3, Mass Effect 3 and Elder Scrolls 5. Those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head, but considering the 360's PC heritage, there are bound to be a few more RPGs show up on the system before the end of next year than the one's I mentioned.

Guys in hockey masks, explosions, a title like Bodycount! Count me in for this seemingly original romp!

"The world disintegrates as you fire away, but you can use this destructibility to your advantage. If you need to see through a wall to hit an enemy, for example, you can shoot it a few times and then aim through the holes."

We are just blazing new ground here.

But seriously, I think we all understand the implications of destructible scenery by now.

So what does this game have to do with Lady Gaga? Is one of the twelve weapons an exploding bra?

@Vertimyst I guess you can just wear very funny hats. One of them has a turret. Disguised as a telephone, of course.

@Vertimyst Lady Gaga was apparently an influence, after Black saw one of her concerts. "Going to her show, feeling really uplifted and energized by that, and going like yeah, I want to get that kind of spirit in the game. Just want to have fun with it -- fun with a gun!"

What Stuart Black said regarding his departure:

"Bodycount was very important to me, being its creator and working through the things I hadn't done on my own before," Black said. "I felt we got to the halfway mark and it was good. People who played it were digging some of the more risky choices. Then the future just shattered in front of me.“

“Some of the marketing initiatives and trailers were not, in my opinion, doing justice for the game.”

No need to lie, Codies. We all know that this game is likely to be a bomb.

@KungFuChaosNinja Such a pity. Marketing should NEVER have any creative input into anything other than figuring out how to sell a game. You can guarantee if they do get their coke frosted noses into the development of a game that they'll gimp it. Bunch of risk averse, work-shy, inimaginitive wankers if you ask me.

If developers are leaving over a conflict with marketing, the company has a serious problem. Marketing is a secondary process to a devopment studio's business. What should happen is that developers hand a game to marketing and say 'now YOU figure out how to sell it'. We'll only keep getting the same sanitised, safe crap otherwise. Thank god at least indie developers are unencumbered by these parasites so we can still see the occasional new idea.

I don't care what anyone says I think this game looks great. It is however unfortunate they have to go up against Brink and Bulletstorm. And I gotta say any of you on the fence about Bulletstorm it is everything hope it is going to be (that is if you actually know about the project and anticipate outrageous humor, parody, and so intentionality lame it's good dialogue).

Hopefully I have enough extra scratch to pick this up cause I like Codemaster's shooterse. May end up getting it from gamefly.

Also: Why so forbidden?

Sounds horribly typical. It'll be a tech Demo for future good fps's to draw from. I mean cmon, a mute protagonist? Yeah, that'll inject some character into the game! Yay!

@Scudpuppy

Yeah, games with mute protagonists are so lacking in character. I always thought that The Legend of Zelda was so bland and boring.

Wait...

@Jack Kevorkian Damn, you are both right. This game will be have as much (or more) character than Halflife and Zelda..

Just let that soak in. ;)

Seriously though: Games need to focus more on character and story. This is taking steps backwards. At least as Gordon Freeman I was somebody; a scientist, I lived through his arriving to work, clocking in, and having a hole to another dimension ripped open. In Bioshock 1 (and 2) I felt immersed in the character from start to finish.

@Scudpuppy

TimeShift. :(

It was once a game that had a cohesive feel, with a story and a character, to boot; however, the fine folks at Sierra decided to delay it, rip away its narrative components, toss in a nobody main character that doesn't talk, rip out a lot of the cyberpunk aesthetics and throw in more rainy, grey corridors, etc., etc.

@Jack Kevorkian Sooo... are you agreeing with him then? Because Gordon Freeman is only barely a character. If he didn't appear on the cover art, posters and whatnot, I'm sure everybody would have a different opinion. What exactly is Gordon's character like? Hmm? What else is he besides a hand that holds a gun?

Touché.

But are you honestly comparing Zelda with... This?
Mute protagonist to me is lazy. Especially if they are cutting it out.
look at mass effect if you want to make a crazy comparison... Or on the same lines as this game, look at almost every fps... Wolfenstein down to bioshock and cod.... Typical mute protagonists. They aren't breaking any new ground outside of the tech, it seems. And for my 70 bucks for a game I'll likely play through once...pass.

With Bulletstorm and Brink coming out the same general time period next year I may have to sadly skip out on this to avoid anymore FPS monotony.

That video meant absolutely no sense. Not that it needs to; if it's as satisfying as Black was, I don't really need a story.
