Sony Japan is putting a special Christmas gift in the stockings of Gran Turismo 5 owners in that territory. From December 24 to January 31, Japanese GT5 drivers will be able to download a Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640, a BMW M3 Coupe and a Jaguar XJ13 completely free for use in the game. The Lambo and the Beemer were originally included in the game's collector's edition, and the Jag was a promotional extra from Facebook.
The promotion is currently for Japan only, so you US and European players will have to live with the usual coal in your stocking. Maybe next year, try not being so naughty?

Its stupid stuff like this that makes people choose xbox over the ps3.

Nah. Forza 3, a great game in its own right, had all kinds of cars you had to purchase to get, and all kinds of preorder bonus cars.
For example, the 'Hot Holidays Car Pack'.
Unless you meant the NA market gets the best deal with the 360, and that isn't always the case for the PS3. I bet that's true, but it's not really a good thing either way.

I'd say he was more aiming towards the second part of your post, about how this DLC is Japan only, even though there's no reason why it couldn't be international as it's not like there's voicing or text.

I have a Japanese psn account. PSN doesn't lock you out based on ip address. I'll just download them ... assuming I can.

No, its not. Bonus cars are cool but I've got at least 10 cars in my garage that will tear these cars to pieces. Don't get me wrong, Id love to get my hands on that M3 to finish off my BMW collection but I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch crying about it.

Is this really what Sony and PD plan to do all along? Or is it becoming a huge undisciplined mess? I will wait until the GT5 ultimate edition with all the fixes and updates or when this hits the bargain bin. And I hope Sony and PD will support this for a long time. I will be pissed if the server goes down in a few years and leave me in the dust.

Actually Christianity is not unheard of in Asia. There are 2 million Christians in Japan, and a lot of non-Christians really get into Christmas. I know it's very well understood that Christmas isn't necessarily a Christian phenomena, anyhow.
When I lived in Asia, I saw red crosses at night, in every city I visited. Particularly in Korea, but Christianity is at least somewhat popular in every part of the world that doesn't outright ban it.

Of course its first in Japan, that's all Polyphony Digital cares about. Have you seen the amount of Japanese cars in GT5? They must outrank American ones 10-to-1. Do we really need over 20 types of the Miata? How about a GTO Judge instead? Not happenin, bruh.
(And on a side note: how about some more DLC for GT PSP? More tracks, please.)
