They would be stupid to try and create a game that would try to "Take over" from WoW. I think this "Titan" has to be WoW related in some way

Actually, thinking about it. It MAY not be an RPG at all. It could be an MMOFPS or something.

@Billlop The leaked chart said it was to be an MMOFPS. If that has any weight, anyway.

Well if it is an MMOFPS then thats smart. Its not amaing for WoW Players at all so it wont harm that playerbase. Its aiming for CoD Players

A good point. Suddenly "CoD subscriptions" makes a lot more sense. An MMO CoD game.

Soon every division of Activision will be working on CoD. Then tomorrow, the world! Muahahahaha!

@Billlop Wow has such a solid fan base of commited players that even if there MMO is great it won't take away them all. Not to mention, WOW is getting pretty old now so they might as well use their new "talent" to create a game that takes advantage of new technology.

Can we hear more about these "additional WoW expansions, as well as expansions for Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2"?

Most people belive the next expansion will be the Emerald Dream, going on lore and the order of the last expansions. Also the Emerald Dream is already in WoW, but you can only see it by hacking.

@blueskyv201 All that was shown was just a simple project schedule for now through like 2015, and it just put checkmarks in the corresponding quarter that the game was projected to be out.

I doubt they really have any details for the titles not due out for another couple years :P

If true, it makes me upset that they're talking about expansions to Diablo 3 when we're still at least a year off from the release of the actual game.

What the hell is up with the comment system? It happened to SisypheanLife below too.

You type out your comment, click "Submit" and then...nothing happens. You retype/paste your comment again and click Submit again...still nothing. Then, 5 mins later all of the comments appear at once.

I don't know why, but 'Titan' kind of makes me think it's going to be a space themed MMO.

Or at least futuristic in some fashion.

Vanilla WoW sucked. I know all the nostalgics will downvote me but whatever. Its like comparing a Atari to a PS3/360. Sure you have fond memories of an Atari, but you cant deny the PS3/360 is the better console

All of Blizzard's projects are code named after mythical creatures. Diablo III's code name was Hydra. Its possible that "Titan" could imply that its their biggest project to date.

Something will knock off WoW. The dominant MMO falls eventually, and they know it. So they're trying to be proactive and have a replacement product that succeeds. Basically like Sony tried with EQ2. Except for the succeeding part.

I think they are trying to create an MMO that will co exist. If it does trun out to be an MMOFPS then they will have all the market cornered. If you like RPGs go to WoW, if you like fast paced FPS go to "Titan".

FPS-MMO in conjunction with Bungie. Calling it now.

They did sign a deal with Activision for some 10 year franchise.

That's fine bud, you're basically predicting the predictable...Only problem is WoW set the bar in terms of subscriptions and sales for ANY MMO. I've played and and enjoyed it reasonably* since its release, reasonably* meaning i don't live on it.

Its current life span most likely WILL surpass the old 4-5 year lifespan of a console with an inferior graphics engine. Case in point, yes Cataclysm is alive and running but the END boss hasn't been added to the game yet. Only on its 3rd expansion, you may want to check back in about 2 - 3 years (literally) to fly your "Itz Tha END of WoW, repent" banner.

If they want to transition players from WOW to this other game, they will probably have cross-game promotions such as "Get your Titan character to level 20 to unlock a special mount in WOW", hoping that once they can get people in the game, it will be enough to convert them over.

And yet blizzard will make considerably more money because of that fact. The more people that are able to play their games means that much more money lining blizzard's wallet.

At some point, people are going to stop playing WoW. Blizzard should create a new MMO (maybe Titan) and charge users one monthly fee to play both games. That would immediately expose 8+ million people to the new game. When interest in WoW finally wanes, all those users -- and all those users' guildmates -- would have a smooth migration path to a new MMO which would keep them paying subscription fees to Blizzard.

Sony Online tried something like that in the past. It might still exist, for all I know. You could have a single pass that allowed access to a number of games.
