MLB 11 includes free MLB.TV trial, new baseball DualShock revealed
14
Next year's iteration of Sony's MLB series will include a special treat for baseball fans. Sure, there's a laundry list of features, such as PlayStation Move support, 3D, and a new analog control system -- but our eyes bolted towards the free trial of MLB.TV. If you pre-order and purchase the game, you'll get 30 days of access to MLB's premium on-demand service, which is also available on the PS3. Given a season membership costs $100, the trial is certainly a nice perk.
To coincide with the launch of MLB 11, Sony has announced yet another limited-edition DualShock 3 controller. A white PS3 controller with baseball stripes will be available on March 8th, the same day as MLB 11, and will retail for $55.

This is one of the best moves Sony has done. Too bad it only appeals to baseball fans. The Show is one of my favorite series of games this generation, other sports franchises can learn a lot from this series. Graphics do matter EA, just letting you guys know.

@leobebes It's not just the graphics, the whole experience is better. The announcers will comment on things you did in the previous game or if you are in a streak. Some sports games are starting to do that, but not to the extent The Show has done. Also the commentary seems to vary each year whereas, say NCAA Football has had the exact same commentary for the last 4 or 5 years. It's not just the commentary either, the whole stadium feel is done right.

This is a strange video game series to make a special edition controller for. It's not bad, but it makes me wonder why they chose to make one for MLB of all the PS3 exclusives.

It looks like one of the icons used for trophies achievements in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

So, how is the next iteration of The Show going to work with the Move?
What I've always wanted is a baseball game that actually uses the swing accurately, and doesn't just have swinging simulate a button press like the Wii does.
For instance, if a pitch is low and outside, I want to have to swing low and away defensively to fight the pitch off like you would in real baseball, and I want my opponent to strike out if he tries to pull a similar pitch over the left field wall.
Is this totally just a pipe dream?

Not a bad looking controller. I'll laugh if they bring a limted edition Move controller resembling a bat. Having 30 days of free MLB is nice but baseball comes on everyday on regular TV and cable. So therefore i aint preordering this or buying it day. I'll wait for a price drop.
Analog controls suck. Don't have a 3D TV or Move in which both are useless to me. This series hasn't been impressive since MLB The Show 07 for PS2(the 1st one i bought)
