Tomb Raider Trilogy combines HD Legend, Anniversary and Underworld on PS3, retail listing says

The PS3 may be home to yet another HD collection. Amazon.de has a listing for Tomb Raider Trilogy. According to the listing, the Blu-ray will include Tomb Raider Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider Underworld. The first two games will get an HD makeover (and will likely look similar to the Xbox 360 versions), and all three games will offer PlayStation Network trophies. In addition, the collection will unlock special male and female avatars for use in PlayStation Home.

While Square Enix has yet to officially announce the collection, we find it a rather likely prospect. It would be a fitting way to close the book on Lara's previous adventures before the upcoming reboot. Oh, and everyone else is doing it too.

I am really loving this trend of HD collections; helps people catch up on all the games of the ps2 era. I hope more are in the pipeline!

I don't understand why Legend and Anniversary would need an HD makeover. Didn't they come out for the Xbox 360 this generation? I think the PS1 Tomb Raiders would be more appropriate for this "HD update" (especially since I haven't played them yet).

When I saw Tomb Raider Trilogy, I also thought it meant the original 1, 2, 3.. Pretty sure hearing #2 was getting the HD treatment not long after Anniversary was released..
Legendary/Underworld was probaby a reboot too, they really messed up the combat in the latter (and then DLC based on the shoddy feature)

anniversary and legend were done for the ps2, not the PS3, so this would be welcomed, I'm aware it was available for the x360 and pc as well.
Wasn't the ps2 version of one of these games different from it's pc/x360 counterparts?

Oh boy, time for lazy publishers to start rereleasing HD games and calling them HD collecitons.

Music albums and movies have been re-released as remastered editions and director cuts for years so I don't see why there should be a difference when it comes to games. I guess there is some degree of work needed to update the games to HD and the fans are buying the collections so why should they stop?

I would personally love a Silent Hill or Resident Evil collection, I need an excuse to replay those games!

damn, haha i was like Tomb Raider 1 2 and 3 rom PS1 in HD !! ? but it's not haha i already borrowed and platinumed Underworld so... yea.... that sucks i can't get the items from Home right now since i am already done that game.

also this better not end up like the PoP HD Collection Ubisoft released here ( Digital only ) also yea i know i could always order on play asia but .. that's not the point. i just wish we got the disc version as well.

(I'm talking achievements like 'Get a Bulletproof Patriot' and 'Jump off Mount Chiliad on a mountain bike', not 'Complete Mission 1', 'Complete Mission 2', etc.)

I would like to replay those games on my HDTV because the PS2 with component cables just isn't cutting it. When I had my 60 gig PS3, even then, it was nigh impossible to play MGS3. so yeah, I do, but moreover, I just want to re-experience them in HD. I have had the ICO SOTC hd remakes reserved for quite some time now.

All I am saying is that yeah it's great to see some of these now classic games re -eleased, I wonder why a couple of truly triple A titles haven't been even hinted at.

Does anyone know what happened to the splinter cell remakes. I really want those. I want to play spies mercs again in HD.

I would get it only for Legend and Anniversary as I already have Underworld depending on whether these end up being digital downloads or a retail disc.

I don't find this particular collection exciting as I don't care about Tomb Raider, but what is exciting is the idea that more and more games are getting this treatment and it's becoming more popular and common. Also, since it would be published by Square, that is a slight glimmer of hope for a PS2 Final Fantasy collection and maybe a Kingdom Hearts collection. The prospect of playing FFX in HD, with trophies, is so exciting. FFX was one of my favorite, if not my favorite, games of all time.

Might be a fun rental since I've ignored these games even though I've heard they're good. Tomb Raider was one of the first games I ever played and was pretty dang awesome but I'm not a huge fan.

The reboot might be interesting.

But I agree; if we're seeing compilations from Square-Enix I'd like to see some Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and perhaps a Xenosaga trilogy get ported. I miss my PS2 RPG's. If the system is going to continue not being backwards-compatible then I'm just going to have to insist upon HD re-releases thank you. ;D

Well, Xenosaga is not from Square Enix, but I'd certainly like to see an HD collection of it. Namco is seemingly against localizing RPGs at all these days, though. :(

Oh wow, lol, you're right; Xenogears was a Squaresoft title so in my mind I thought the Xenosaga trilogy was a Squeenix effort. My bad.

To be honest though the HD re-release I'd absolutely LOVE to have available (this is a very unlikely event though) would be the Shadow Hearts games. I loved those.

I also think Atlus should find a way so that I can play Persona 4 on my PS3. I have P3P for my PSP so I'm good there (though I'd be willing to buy Persona 3 for the fourth time on PS3) but Persona 4 was a game I didn't get to delve into as much since it was such a late PS2 game.

On 360 and PC they are, but Underworld was the only one to make it to PS3.

Not even all of the senseless complaining can curve the excitement for another HD collection.

The Sly collection was the best yet. If this trilogy comes on a blu ray in the U.S., I'm buying.

I Love my Sly Collection, and GoW I&II. Pop Collection on disc, not so much, dont get me wrong the first game is AMAZING.

Great package. Legends and Anniversary were great games. But that Underworld was pretty much unplayable with its faux-open world nonsense.

I only played Anniversary on PS2, and for the other two, I never had the change to even play them.
But I think this would be great for people that haven't played the previous games in the 360, unless its HD remake does make a big difference between the two versions.
