Lady Croft's latest adventures -- excluding the downloadable Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light -- are getting bundled up in early 2011 for a Tomb Raider Trilogy pack on PlayStation 3. Karl Stewart, global brand director for Crystal Dynamics, confirmed this weekend's leak on his Twitter account. He noted that a full announcement would be made shortly.
If the Amazon listing is accurate, the Blu-ray compilation will include Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: Anniversary, both of which will be available for the first time on the console, along with 2008's Tomb Raider: Underworld. You'll also get male and female avatars for PlayStation Home and an XMB theme.
This looks to be the last send-off for the obsessive and occasionally mean Lara introduced by Crystal Dynamics in 2006. She'll experience another reboot in Tomb Raider -- just "Tomb Raider" -- next year.

I wonder what the pricing will be.. Hopefully around the $40 mark of the other HD remixes.

The weird thing about this HD remix... they're already in HD.
I enjoyed Legend - especially the museum level. I didn't finish Underworld. Don't know why exactly. And I hated the swimming part. But hey, to be fair who has done a good swimming in a game?

So Luddy, you think this is a good buy? I liked Legend, but never bought it. Was very interested in Anniversary (loved it back on the Saturn). At the time of its release, Underworld did not get very good marks, so I did not think of it much.
I have since heard these games mentioned rather favorably on the podcast. So, I will keep my eyes on this package.

If I hadn't played these on PS2 I'd go for this collection. They're all pretty good, especially Anniversary, if you've played the original it's a great bit of nostalgia with controls that don't make you want to throw your controller.
I'm not sure I'll get anything I've already played, but I'll happily get souped up collections of the games I never got around to, like Sly Cooper.

Wondering about the trophies for this...
Will it be like the Sly Collection, where each game has it's own seperate trophy list / platinum?
The only reason I ask is because I already own and played through some of Tomb Raider Underworld a while back, but never finished it, and I wondered if this collection would create a new Tomb Raider Underworld trophy list, or just continue to use the one that I already have some trophies on. Does that make any sense?
Those Home avatars better be amazing.

@Miadaskate Most likely each game will have separate trophy lists as has been the case for the other HD collections. The Underworld included here will probably be exactly the same as the one you already played (meaning it would use the same save files, trophy list, etc)

Stop wasting my time with Tomb Raider, give me a Jak collection in HD, or Ratchet, or Dark Cloud, or Metal Gear, or any of the dozens of better franchises.

I'm desperately hoping you realize Eidos's decision to publish these games is independent of Sony and all other PlayStation games. They just happen to be jumping on the same bandwagon Ubisoft's hitched its horse to.

Sony is sitting on a GOLDMINE. All they have to do is handle it correctly. Cant bring out too many remakes, but they have to bring out enough
