Rugged Outdoor Gaming Units, Etc (aka ROGUE) is looking to service our armed forces with rugged all-in-one gaming devices. The goal? "To provide every every big kid with entertainment no matter where his travels take him." The product? The Staff Sergeant PeliStation, available beginning the spring of next year.
Priced at $1750, the PeliStation includes a 1080p 22" HD display, built-in PS3, a surge protector and four network outputs. "With a weight of just 35 lbs., this complete setup is easy to carry whether you're going on a weekend camping trip or year-long deployment to the desert," the product description adds. While a feat of engineering, we can't help but wonder if the rumored PSP2 would better serve this purpose?

This is what Ben Heck built on his last video podcast.

This is dodgy, if you go to the gallery on their site, they have an image of Ben Heck's version lifted from his latest video...

I saw that and was like... wtf?!?! What Ben Heck made was pretty nice though. I think he could have made it without tearing apart the ps3 though. I'm not a fan of how you load the disk, but as long as it is reliable, i guess.
When i was reading the specs in this article, i was like "wtf, 4 network ports?!?! That's what Ben Heck had to do for that couple!" His name is credited on the site. I wonder what his cut is on this thing.

Apple, quality? Lol. You bought a cheap PC, the Mac wasn't extraordinarily good.

You're already lugging around 100lbs worth of gear, what's another 35lbs...
Then again with the tax free money made over seas, even a E-1 could accumulate enough money in two weeks to buy this and have it shipped to Iraq or Afghanistan.

This is VERY cool, and a good story. Thank you to all the men/women who serve us and to the vets who did.

Maybe...but I think it's sad that you could purchase a PS3 and a larger monitor twice and still spend less than this 1 item. I think the risk of breaking a ps3 is worth it here.
And for the record, my launch ps3 has seen 2 trips to the dessert now....getting played in my living room right now!

I had a powerbook that wasn't even built well enough to sit on my desk. I highly doubt they could last a Decepticon invasion.

In all fairness, were the Decepticons to invade, I'd want to be surrounded by the crappiest technology possible. A shoddily made COBY cassette player seems like it will pose much less threat than a blue-laser-containing PS3. Hell, the aluminum unibody macbook pro's are going to have their own armor. Netbooks for everyone?

actually, Toshiba, Asus, and Sony all rank better than Apple in reliability, with Dell right behind:
