There's not really anything else like Demon's Souls. But it is amazing and totally worth buying.

@Lazercat709 It takes some time to get into the game but after that little hump, you won't wanna play another game for aloong while! It's defiantly worth picking up for the price but there are also other games on the ps3 that are worth putting your money into as well.

There's nothing brutal about the games difficulty. Don't play it like God of War and it becomes pretty easy.

I highly recommend both Demon's Souls and 3D Dot Game Heroes. With these prices now would be a great time to pick up both.

It took me a solid 6 hours to finish the first level. I didn't really start liking the game all that much until after I finished the first level. After that first boss, I really started to get into it. It's one of those games that I liked more and more and more after each level. It seems brutally tough at first, but as others say, it's not unfair. You have to learn how the game works, and you have to learn the enemies' behaviors, and once you do, dying feels like making a mistake or a result of a lack of information about an enemy as opposed to being subject to something that is too difficult. And that is the way games SHOULD be.

If you can manage some patience, once it "clicks," you will enjoy it. I think the only people that didn't enjoy the game are the people that didn't have the patience to work with the learning curve of the game, or just couldn't adapt to the game's style, and are too used to the God of War hack n slash style game.

Personally, the game's sense of fair difficulty (after some required trial-and-error with each new level and enemy encounter) is one part of why I like the game so much. Another part is that I feel the game is the perfect balance between character stats and actual skill. Too often, action RPG's will be lopsided; they will either be too much RPG, where the action only dictates things like location-based critical hits and such, and the outcome of each battle is based 90% on character stats (think that Final Fantasy 7 PSP action RPG, whose name always escapes me), or it's too based on action and not enough on stats, where the game ends up being a hack n slash, third person shooting beat em up, with passing references to RPG elements (Final Fantasy: Dirge of Cerberus). In Demon's Souls, your stats definitely matter for various reasons, but you can come back to the first level and still die pretty easily for a good portion of the game.

There is also so many little things in the game that make you want to explore, and I'm not the kind that cares about exploring games anymore. That ended for me after Super Metroid a good 15 years ago. If a game makes me WANT to explore, it means it's doing something right.

At that price, you should buy it now, so you can still enjoy the online aspects. Which aren't necessary, but do add yet another neat enjoyable and unique aspect to the game.

@Lazercat709 Get the Japanese version so that when you get tired of getting your arse greased all over the rocks, you can then cheat it up and actually see the rest of the game. Those scums who released it here in America put too many locks that stops possibilities since 2008!

The Japanese versions doesn't give a flip about it to this day~

I'm not seeing the deal on Naruto, guys. Link 1 goes to the casual games, link 2 goes to the product with the regular price. Was it something they pulled quickly?

Arma 2 Combined Operations for $12.50 is a steal, especially since it's $30 on sale on Steam right now.

It's a very punishing dungeon crawler. You get to leave messages for other players about what they may face be it traps, bosses or lie about what is and isnt safe. You can invite people into your game to fight as well. Sorta like an MMO but without everyone always LFGing around you. If you;re looking for a challenging hack and slash/magicial romp with multiplayer it's worth getting, and get it quick since it relies on a server that could go down in a year or so if it's not getting regular traffic which might kind render the multiplayer aspect of the game useless.

Yeah, Naruto seems to be a mistake or pulled down. It looks like the crummy recent Naruto game on the Wii is 50% off though (Clash of Ninja Revolution series was pretty good, don't know what went wrong this time). I was excited about Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. Oh well. I can live without that one. 3D Dot Games Heroes may be on the list of games i need though.

Just ordered Demon's souls! How is 3D Dot games heroes? I enjoyed the original Legend of Zelda but I haven't played to much of Link to the Past. Is it as good as those?

3D Dot Game Heroes is Link to the Past more-or-less. All of the mechanics from money or health dropping from enemies once they die to killing all of the monsters in a dungeon room to progress (only killing the monsters or doing so to allow a key to show up from out of nowhere). The pixel graphics in the game works and even allows you to create your own hero. Overall whatever your impression is/was of Link to the Past will easily pass on to 3D DGH.

I would like to mention that you can also hit chickens in this game just like Link to the Past.

3D Dot Game Heroes is great. If you like anything remotely like Zelda, you'll like this. It's interesting, because it's got next gen muscle, but it manages to recapture the charm of the old school days.

@HM79 That was the subject of intense debate for a couple weeks on the podcast, the big idea was that if the quality of the experience is good enough, then it really shouldn't matter how long it is. It's more about Bang for your Buck, not hours of gameplay per buck, and in that sense Enslaved is a kiloton warhead.

Get over it. If anyone doesn't buy an entertaining, original IP like Enslaved at a great price like 20 f'ing $$$, they are doing a severe disservice to gaming in general. Just buy it. What's the concern? Definitely, certainly, absolutely worth $20 whether it's 5, 10, or 20 hours long.
It is no longer than it needs to be. No filler or fluff. You love the characters and story so much you don't want it to end. The fact that it ends at 10 hours is disappointing. If it ended at 20 hours, I would still be sad it was over...

@JonahStein Get over what? I was asking a question. The reason why I have Gamefly is so I don't buy games like this. I'm sure it's a great game! No doubt about it, but if it's only ten hours long its not worth my money to purchase it. Now if it had a bigger single-player experience and a good multiplayer (which all games should) then I could see myself buying it! I'll rent it, enjoy it, and send it back.

So is the full game significantly different the demo? I thought the demo was pretty lame, as did quite a few other people, but then after it launched the game seemed to pick up a pretty loyal following.... but I can't shake the bad taste from the demo.

Some of the things on sale are mind blowing, and not for their prices. Planet Alcatraz, You are Empty, Necrovision? Who makes all these things? They look 10 years old but are mostly new releases, what the hell is this stuff?
