Dead Rising 2: Case West now up on XBLA
31
Capcom's XBLA-exclusive Dead Rising 2 epilogue, Case West, is available now on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The standalone DLC has Chuck Greene teaming up with everyone's favorite photojournalist, Frank West, for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
The previous standalone downloadable game, Case Zero, debuted at $5. For an extra $5 on top of the expected time-crunching, item-combining gameplay, Case West adds a new setting, co-op gameplay and the return of faaaantastic photography. It'll certainly be interesting to see how Case West's sales do in comparison to Case Zero, the latter of which was deemed the "most dynamic sales weapon" by Capcom shortly before surpassing 600,000 downloads.

I'm not crazy about Frank West's new face. Dude looks like Dan Aykroyd.

But part of the allure of Case Zero was the price.
I don't think will do as well.

Indeed. I'm a total cheapo. I'll wait for a sale at $5.

I thought the same thing but the weapon combo system definitely makes up for that loss. As fun as the photography was, the mechanic itself was pretty clunky.

I just started playing DR2 last night, and am having a blast with it.

Is it timed and setup (save system esp) like all the DR games, I got Case Zero but then realized that's one of the things I disliked about DR1. Case was good for 400 but think that's it for me.

$10? I'll have to pass on this.

I will wait for it to drop to $5 in 6 months...if it doesn't...no loss

I'm sure people will argue this is worth $10, and it may be, but it's always disappointing to see a company (potentially) be so quick exploit whatever good will they've earned. Support a great release for $5? You've pretty much sealed it that the sequel will be $10. You're damned for doing the right thing.

Which is exactly why companies are leery to release DLC for less than 10 bucks cause apparently gamers think that everything else has to be $5 forever if you choose that price once.
It probably is worth 10 bucks just for the fact that you don't even need to own Dead Rising 2 in order to play this DLC. Compared to every other game with DLC this is on par.
Stop pretending like they are ripping gamers off just because they sold a glorified demo for 5 bucks instead of 10.

If you read that, I was VERY careful to not label the DLC as a rip-off. I haven't even played it. How the hell would I know? I was making a general statement over the fact that any time a company "tests the waters" and it's a success, the next release is almost always inevitably more. It *appears* (

Wouldn't make sense seeing how Dead Rising 1 wasn't on PS3. The huge factor of it being the main character of the first will be weird with no real back up dialogue.

While $10 is still a good price, I doubt it will sell half the amount of Case Zero because of this price barrier.
I think Capcom would earn more by selling it at $5.

I picked it up for 10, between this and Case Zero I don't feel the need to buy DR2. I will just rent it.

@JeicenBurter We will, eventually. Most likely it'll be at the same time the inevitable all-in-one release hits stores.

I'm all over it. Only $10 for some more DR goodness.

Booo Capcom. You know 600,000 people will pay $5 for this type of game but that's just not enough for you. You gotta try and get every dollar possible out of our pockets. The last game was worth $5 but definitely not $10 so I'm gonna assume the same can be said for this one and not buy it.
