Joystiq is a bit late on this but regardless:
why are all the news sites like Engadget and stuff so interested in this? It's one of those stupid, overpriced chargers with a dinky $2 plastic thing on top.

Am I the only one who doesn't care about this crap that Mad Catz and the like try to sell?

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze I'm sorry, did I miss something? Did I make a bad comment and anger you?

I just find these things to be super low quality at extremely ridiculous prices. $50 for a shoddy thing like this? And of course people would buy into it.

I think it's funny that Sonic is shilling for Nintendo controller chargers. I guess we know who won those console wars : /

I understand where you are coming from, but there are plenty of people out there willing to pay a lot for novelty. I am not that person, but sometimes I pass an item that I would like to have because it appeals to me on an aesthetic rather than monetary level.

@Lerkero - I'm broke from Christmas (unless Gift Cards count) and I'm considering a 100ish dollar novelty framed art deco superman print I saw on GAF.

Novelty sells.

(I'm not going to do it. The new semester is right around the corner, and my laptop is coughing up blood)

@Lerkero true novelty sells but what novelty is in this? It's pretty lame if you ask me. I've seen much better Sonic novelty items than this.

I suppose someone might find value in it, not my place to say I guess.

Great to see Sonic letting people know "only two at a time".
A nice novelty item for fans that have chargers.

@The Only Girl

I thought he was informing people how many seconds they had until it would break.

Peace Bitches
I'm done with games, the true money lies in controller charging

That's what I imagine sonic saying anyway

Sonic is a thug. Me and my brother went back and played sonic 2 the other day on the original sega and beat it and thats the accomplishment of my life

Id rather have a blue controllers with red buttons and a little sonic emblem on it. They need to think like other console companies do and make special controllers instead of making chargers. (xboxs fable 3 or reach controllers for example)

So, what you're saying Joystiq, is that Sonic likes to take "condom" wrapped wii(motes) at the same time?

Well at least this isn't the worst peripheral the Wii's had:

Just buy a battery charger.

It's just inconvenient having wiimotes be unusable while they're charging.

Really? You're getting 6 of these, is that necessary?

Oops, I suppose I should have actually waited for him to say that before I responded. WE KNOW IT IS TRUE!
