Castlevania: Symphony of the Night stages coming to Harmony of Despair
14
Konami's multiplayer, side-scrolling dungeon crawler Castlevania: Harmony of Despair already looks very, very familiar -- a phenomenon which can be attributed to its re-using of sprites from previous entries in the series. According to the game's official Japanese site, that policy isn't being reversed any time soon: In January, the game will see the addition of an eighth level, based off the underground area from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night -- a stage which culminates in a fight with the creepy, spherical corpse-monster, Legion.
The downloadable level -- as well as another titled "Lord of the Flies," which is either hinting at a level featuring Beelzebub or possibly a level where you drop rocks on island-bound children -- will cost 320 Microsoft Points ($4). It's unclear whether the January release window listed on the site for this DLC is applicable in the States; we've contacted Konami for confirmation. And to ask about the whole "dropping rocks on children" thing.

With the let down of their last dlc I think I'm gonna pass on this one.

The DLC has been great so far with the exception of Julius who's a little boring. He's still pretty cool though so I don't really see why people are whining.

Yeah, 5 bucks to unlock the 7th level is ridiculous. 2 dollars to unlock each other character was too. I wouldn't be so bitter if they weren't unlocks and were actually added later on. Or even if it included some achievement points. Come on, throw us a bone.
This game gets my XBLA GotY honors by a long shot but the dlc would have held it back if there were any other serious contenders.

Awesome...now for crying out loud, where the hell is the Simon DLC?

the game is too expensive and so are each of the DLC maps. The game with all of the DLC included might be worth 10 bucks... maybe.

@glod
I understand that, but there are better games that cost the same or less and those games had to create everything from scratch, not used recycled sprites from the last decade.
So for me, XBLA games are compared to other XBLA games and this Castlevania does not measure up to other $15 games and not even up to most $10 games.

I still haven't downloaded this game, I figure I'll pick it up when/if it ever goes on sale. I generally don't like to pay more then 10 bucks for arcade games, though Limbo was an exception.
