@182 The Last Story has absolutely nothing to do with Square Enix or FF, other then the fact its being made by the guy who created FF in the first place.

@AramanTSG i wouldn't be too sure, i mean if it's being filed as a European trademark that is. though manga / anime of course has its following in the EU, i don't think that there's a big enough following to justify a move like that. i hope to be proved wrong (actually, i don't. i cannot get into manga / anime. the only 'anime' i've ever brought is Advent Children and Advent Children Complete, and even then i only brought it because it was part of FFVII, of which i'm still a massive slave and whore to.)

fingers crossed for a new game, as long as it's on PS3 so i don't need to buy a new console to play it

So..... Final Fantasy Zero?

A prequel wouldn't mean anything, since all of the FF's are unrelated, unless it were a kinda "beginning of the world" story, like Terranigma.

Well after all the let downs with their little ventures and ultimate refusal to listen to any of their fans regarding remakes or otherwise, I think I'll just wait and see.

I don't think I'm alone with that feeling either.

So much Final Fantasy stuff nowadays. And people talk about Activision milking franchises. I'm not interested in any of these spin-offs. I mean, it's been almost 5 years since we had a great Final Fantasy with XII. And even then it wasn't as iconic or memorable as X. It's a shame too, because XIII had an unbelievable amount of potential. It was just poor execution that led to it being an average experience.

Well it's not like there's only one team making stuff at Square-Enix. They are a company after all. I'm sure most of the developers and artists do work on multiple projects at once.

I almost feel bad for them. They used to be at the top of the industry in the late nineties, but they just can't let go of the FF series long enough to release anything better. I guess that movie really put them under financially though
